Don't worry, I'm not actually a green frog, I just play one on the internet.

Hey LS22, thanks a ton for maintaining these spreadsheets, along with the others helping you. I know it's always been a lot of work, but I feel that fact is particularly illustrated in light of tonight's events. So kudos to you.

I know I probably don't have a chance at H, but just wanted to know the decision already.
My GPA is <25 and LSAT at median.
I'm not sure why it's taking them so long to ding me!!!
My app went complete 12/2 and then NOTHING
Is everyone still waiting for the denial/WL? Or should I be sending in a LOCI?
Thoughts, anyone?

ETA: I realize now that I might just sound like I'm whining as others may have been waiting longer.

I think the bolded is not a good idea. Stalking the adcom will probably just piss them off, and they'll just tell you that they have your app and are working on it.

I don't blame you for posting; I know it's nerve-wracking, but vent here not to HLS. And as others have pointed out, your wait is far from unprecedented, hang in there.

What are thoughts on how the extended deadline will affect the timing of the cycle?

My guess is that splitters and reverse splitters will have to wait until even later than usual, or at least until the Feb LSAT scores come out before starting to hear back, for a full applicant pool for HLS to look through to see what they need.

I think that sounds about right. Every year there are dozens -- if not hundreds -- of students against whom admissions wants to compare the entire applicant pool. Being as this year's applicant pool is being finalized later, I think its likely they get moving on these splitters later.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a good-sized wave of splitter acceptances in maybe the week following the deadline or the LSAT score release.

All relevant information I have been able to gather has suggested all along that we will see little movement in February, with increased activity on the "borderline" folks in mid-March. So I would agree with you.

I've been thinking about this lately, too -- how we're really in the home stretch! Deposits at most places are due in less than two months. In six months, we'll all be packing up for wherever we've decided to go. Isn't that crazy?

And I still haven't heard from a single school. Womp Womp.

it sketches me out actually. for ex, Mich sounds pretty appealing, but they require a decision by April 30. But if (I get on Harvard's WL and) I'm still on Harvard's WL there's no way I'd commit to go there

As exciting as this is, it's equally unsettling as I still have no notion of where I'll be in 6 months. I'm trying to embrace it, but I'm not the spontaneous type.

Do schools get the scores very close to the email release as well? Or is the March 13th "Score Reports Mailed" referring to when schools start receiving them?

Ya, I'm not liking that extended deadline, though it seems like they'd have to rush decisions or just dump a bunch of the JS1.5s on the waitlist if they wait until scores come out to look at those files again.

I've looked at a bit of data from last cycle, and on Feb 20th there were JS2s for about 4-5 people who had been waiting since October-December and IIRC were below one median and just below another. There were a couple more in March and April before the waitlists came out, but not as many. Obviously this year has been different, especially with the extended deadline.

As we progress into March we need to start to become more and more realistic about our chances. I think, based on various pieces of info I'm considering, that they have accepted somewhere on the order of 550-600 people. That only leaves about 250-300 spots. Maybe 50 or so will come from the WL. So they need to accept about 200-250 between now and May 1. If TLS is 10% of the applicant pool, we may only see another 20ish people on TLS get accepted between now and May 1.

But TLS is not a representative sample and I would think the acceptance rate among TLSers should be much higher than the general applicants, no?
