Need to correct some of the previous results I reported. Sorry for the misinformation.

Average days between complete and JS1 request for applicants with:

• At/Above median LSAT = 14.1
  Below median LSAT = 22.1
  At/Above median GPA = 12.2
  Below median GPA = 20.9

Average days between JS1 and JS2 for applicants with:

• At/Above median LSAT = 24.5
  Below median LSAT = 27.2
  At/Above median GPA = 24.8
  Below median GPA = 25.6

I also added a histogram for the JS1-JS2 wait time to the spreadsheet.

This looks more correct. Interesting to see it doesnt matter much after JS1.

However it is important to note this doesnt take in account information of people who are still on hold, and I would imagine (and I briefly skimmed the data to confirm it) those who are below the LSAT median by far represent the no action group (sitting on complete/JS1).

Surprisingly, the statistic for JS1-JS2 wait time is the same: 95% of those in this data set who have received a JS2 received it within 39 days.

Slow day at work, so taking any other requests for statistics.

You can't conclude that. I'm sure Leo would agree that since the cycle isn't over, this data set is incomplete at this point. There may well be another large group of people who will get JS2's that blow up the 39 day threshold, and they just haven't received them yet.

Calculate the average by taking in the account of the people who are still on hold. If a file's complete date to a possible JS1 is shorter (i.e., submitted las week) than the average complete to JS1, ignore, if longer, include in the average. Do that with the same classifications, and with above both and below both medians.

Yeah LS22 is right. I should have phrased it as "About 95% of the JS1 requests that have been sent so far arrived within 39 days."

Somewhat relevant to the current discussion, but thoughts on how many JS1's have been conducted?

My unsubstantiated guess is ~700. Seems too high/low?

Shouldn't these results be skewed though? The first wave of acceptances was 11/25 or 11/26, but they had interviews for about a month or more before then, without accepting anyone periodically, like they're doing now. So some people may have interviewed in mid-october but not been accepted until the end of november, while some people were interviewed relatively close to the first wave and then accepted in it. So it seems like there may be an upward bias on the JS1-JS2 wait times, since were including all these people who interviewed way before JS2's even started going out.

My guess would be that it's higher than that. 625 would be half of 1250, and I have a feeling they are a bit further along than half-way.

Also, at a quick glance it supports the notion that being below LSAT median is slightly worse than being below GPA median, but there are other factors that could explain this that our data doesn't control for. Either way, interesting stuff!

id guess that's partially related to the fact that you can explain away poor grades in a PS far easier than you could explain away a poor LSAT

Yep, I also think it's likely there are fewer great LSATs out there than great GPAs. I would imagine a school like Harvard doesn't have a shortage of either, but that may play some small role.
