I do, which is a major reason I would think about reapplying if it came to that :|

Poli if that is your real LSAT score I HIGHLY doubt you'll have trouble getting in.

Thanks, I still have moments of self-doubt though. Especially since I just had to move and sign a new year's lease here so that'll also be a factor in the decision process.

My consideration would be strictly personal preference.

Chicago is too damn cold; don't know if NY might be a little too urban....

That makes sense. I guess if it were me I would have to decide if the opportunity cost of waiting out another year of a lawyer's salary would be worth it. It would be like adding another $60k-$160k to your tuition bill.

Assuming you retire at the same age regardless of when you go to law school, wouldn't this result in losing one year of your pre-retirement (and probably high/highest) salary - so opportunity cost is more like 500K+ in 2050 dollars. This obviously depends on a lot of assumptions about your career plan and trajectory.

Yeah probably, plus you lose out on some investment interest, etc. But that 500k in today's dollars is around $150k assuming 3% rate and 40 years. So the overall point is the same, there is some level of opportunity cost you would at least want to consider.

Ya, it's definitely worth thinking about the opportunity cost, but I imagine for a lot of people it's about more than money.

I think I'd have a lot of regrets if I didn't end up going to HYS.

Putting things in terms of future dollars isn't very helpful. I don't know how many yachts 500K will buy me in 2050. :P

Oh I know the reasons are not money-related. My point isn't that you should be thinking about this so that you can make the most money possible. My point is just to consider whether the intangible reasons for wanting Harvard over CCN are worth enough to you to "spend" an extra $150k. Just food for thought.

Lol agreed. See above, I put it in PV, assuming 3% ROR and 40 years.

lol when I think about money, going to Harvard or any place at sticker (which I feel like anyone currently making 80k+ as an independent won't be getting much aid), seems like a bad idea. This is why I try not to think about money...

Gmail is now saying I have 104 new messages, but won't let me see any of them. Maybe it's 104 email acceptances to Harvard? Or an even 100 acceptances to Harvard and 4 acceptances to Yale.

Y'all are too caught up on focusing on the lost money.

Money is a McMansion in Sarasota that starts falling apart after ten years, but power is the old stone building that stands for centuries. I cannot respect someone who doesn't see the difference.

Since you have so many, could you maybe spare one for me? Either H or Y is fine. Thanks.

Well their main number is 617-495-XXXX. If it's anything like my school, all their numbers will be 617-495-XXXX. Not that that would keep anyone from always having their heart skip a beat for any 617 number.

I'm just starting to realize that every day until the beginning of APRIL (that's more than 60 days from now) could be just like this, until the first waitlists come out.

Of course, I'd probably catch on at some point before then, but, still, the not-knowingness is really getting to me.

Just received a JS1 request. Anyone care to share any interview tips (ie. format, questions, what to wear, what to have in the background, etc)?
