So who will be the first person you tell after you get your JS2?

lol also how many people will post a FB status about it? I think its fair game as long as its not douchy with a picture / instagram shot of your acceptance letter :P
Heh, I texted a few friends, who proceeded to write on my Facebook wall stuff like "CONGRATSSSS" or "YOU DID IT!" at which point I got texts from people asking what was up at which point I decided a semi-sappy fb status would be ok. That Facebook status was easily the most popular Facebook status I ever have had or ever will have ever. lol

WTRC looks like a saint in comparison to me. I did have fun with my obnoxious post though.

In light of me finally reaching 100 posts, here's Bill Murray waiting for the JS2s to happen.

I'm a little confused about the number of JS1 invites vs. number of JS2s.

According to last year's thread, they interview ~1,200 people and give ~850 JS2s, so roughly 70% of people get accepted post-JS1,

However, I feel like those odds are way too high for a lot of us. If you take the people who are really, really likely to be admitted out of the equations (those with high GPAs AND high LSATs), then the chances of being admitted post-JS1 go down significantly. A lot of reactions to JS1 invites are "Yes! 70% chance of getting into Harvard!", but now I'm thinking it's still a really low chance.

Sorry, I know I'm being a Debbie Downer. I'm just trying to "get" the number of JS1s vs. JS2s.

Being able to assume a JS1 is exactly a 70% chance of getting into Harvard for everyone, requires assuming that once a JS1 is issued, the only thing they care about in your app is the interview. However, we all know this is not the case. Some people are interviewed as a formality to ensure they are human, others are interviewed to wade through and sort out those that are borderline. It's hard to say what exactly any given persons chances are.

Yep, this is all true. Although I think it's fair to say that if you do get a JS1, your chances have probably improved from where they were if you looked at your overall chances on MyLSN, and they're definitely better than your chances if you don't get a JS1 (0%) :).

This is why I regret not retaking the Dec LSAT for that 174+

Exactly. 70% of those interviewed will get accepted does not necessarily mean each person has a 70% chance.

Logic guys, logic! You all studied the LSAT and you know the flaws!

Aw man, looking at scoobs charts reminds me that despite my js1, my chances of actually getting in as a k-jd with a minor character issue and average softs with lsat between 25-50 and gpa >25 is pretty grim....

Glad this came up - as a pretty borderline applicant (basically at 25th % for both) I was very surprised/fortunate to get a JS1 in the first place. Had mine last Friday, and in my case definitely doing my best to manage expectations moving forward. Anyone have any anecdotes/speculation about how stats factor into the game after receiving JS1s? Also, first time posting ITT - so big thanks to all you guys for making this wait as good as it can be.

"Drinks on me" is not TCR. "Whose going to buy me celebratory shots?" is TCR.

Hey, a JS1 means you got a shot. That's all I'm hoping for with my LSAT at 50 and my GPA <25.

Since we've been so good at speculating thus far, what do y'all think regarding possible JS2s for the last 2 weeks worth of interviewees? It's been noted that some people last year interviewed mid January and got JS2s around now. But this cycle has been quite different...
