Legally Blonde is on WE again right now if anyone is looking to pass the time with thoughts of HLS!

Watched it last weekend. My mom walked into the living room when the closing scene was on, looked at me, and said, "You're obcessed."

Have to say that I didn't see this one coming. You're probably breaking JS' heart right now. I suspect it's not often she loses out to Cornell.

She's too busy reading all the "Where are the JS2's?" posts and laughing to have seen nep's post. :)

Soooo if I had my JS1 in the first week of November and haven't gotten a JS2, it's likely I'll be waitlisted or rejected right?

It's hard to say. So the average time between JS1 and JS2 for November admits (per our spreadsheet) is 20 days. But that does not meant here won't be another wave of JS2's of which you are a part. It could easily just be them wanting to conduct some more JS1's before making another round of decisions, and you may well be in consideration for that second wave of JS2's.

At this point, since we don't have any data on who has been denied or wait-listed, it is really hard to say what the timing means in relation to denials and wait-lists.

So, I fully expected to be in that boat as well, so I did a little digging in last year's thread. I found 2 users who reported JS1 invites in the first two waves that were accepted in the second round of JS2s. There was another who interviewed in the first group who heard back on March 25th.

I'd say there's no reason to lose hope. hth

Yep, as long as you haven't been denied it means you're still in the race. As they continue to develop a picture of the class I am sure they consider and re-consider people for whom they have yet to make a decision.

Ditto. I've more or less accepted that I'll be WL'd at this point. My interview went well and my softs are strong, but I guess HLS is very much a # game at the end of the day.

I don't know if this is 100% true. I have seen some very well-qualified applicants from a numbers perspective be denied, and some definite reaches be accepted. Obviously it is not pervasive, but you see it enough that it seems like they are looking at more than just the numbers. Also, the content of the interviews we have seen so far leads me to believe that they are interested in other aspects of the application outside of the numbers.

Yeah, I totally agree. I do not have very strong numbers (not above the 50% for either LSAT or GPA), but I think my work experience, LORs and a very specific focus on what I want to do post-graduate school were what got me into Harvard. They're definitely shifting away from just accepting ppl with high numbers. So wouldn't lose hope at all.

Also check out the latest posts that took place today in Mike Spivey's thread "Ask a former admissions officer" - it should give a lot of hope to splitters as well.

Is there no column in the spreadsheet regarding the number of times people took the LSAT?

Any JS1s/JS2s with multiple LSATs, and what was the difference between the scores? If anyone is willing to share that information but doesn't want to do it here, you can PM me

There is not. I was under this impression this did not have a huge effect on admissions, but if we think it should be added I can certainly do so.

I thought the consensus is that it doesn't really matter except when it comes to HYS. I could be wrong though
