There may be some validity to schools wanting more people to apply (more selective, boosts rankings a bit); but I don't see any to offering more people an interview just to fill the quota. It doesn't help the rankings and would be a waste of time for them. I think it's safe to assume if you have an interview you have an excellent shot of getting in, no matter who interviews you or how prepared they seem.

I did not. I did not think it was necessary to send a thank you after a Skype interview, besides I'm sure they get enough emails to worry about without having to read an unnecessary thank you letter.

EDIT: Removed quote.

Haha my apologies Citrus, I assumed you meant don't quote from earlier in the thread, but instead post a new response.

The appropriate response, binary, is to remove your quote of him...

I have it in on a flashdisk somewhere but haven't seen it since March.

Now it's upon me. I have a mock interview tomorrow. I had a non-JS1 mock interview a while ago with a V15 alum partner where I just winged it. He said I did pretty good. I don't want to do that for this one since there's a lot hanging in the balance. I just copied and paste a bunch of JS1 related stuff on JS1.

2 questions.

1. I'm going to devote all of the next 2/3/4 days to this.
Let's say 3 (as the average estimated time to arrival to my JS1). Are you guys sure 3 days is enough?

2. I don't think I have time to go through all 200 pages of last year's thread + this year's thread. Am I missing any gems not found in Regulus's Guide? Have any posters posted in this thread new questions or approaches the interviewers have adopted? It'd be great if someone who has done a better job of staying on top of this thread can direct me to the spots where posters have shared interesting things.

Just know your resume, do some basic research on H, and have some questions for your interviewer.

I know I have asked several JS1 related Qs, but dude....chill. They just want to talk to a normal, sociable human. So be one!

And don't worry about what you wear. Suit or no suit. both fine.

I just about had a heart attack. I thought you were saying that you just got the first JS2 which admittedly makes no sense as it is a Sunday but my heart dropped into my stomach nonetheless.

I wore a suit, but thats because I felt most comfortable in a suit.

Hahaha yep got a call at 9pm tonight. JS said she just finished watching sunday night football and felt like admitting some kids.

But really, I just feel 'em a-coming! The whole thread gets in Tuesday!

Looking at past threads --they usually come out like 11/21 or so, but also on the week of Thanksgiving. not sure if it will be this week or next then.

Chill Specs. I still believe the first batch of Js2 should be out on turkey week.

Haha no worries, I am chilled. I hope you are wrong. I predicted way back when that the first round would come out on the 19th so I am hoping for that. In the long term though, one week doesn't matter, the following week would be fine too.
