From what I've gathered, with the exception of two people with GPAs below 25th (with compensatory LSAT scores), they've all been high-numbers applicants.

I am on lower end (25-50 percentile for both), so hope that gives hope to fellow folks on the lower end of the spectrum.
Random (and possibly dumb) question for the group. For Skype interview, what is appropriate to wear - suit, shirt and tie, or just collared shirt. I will be sitting at home, so it might be weird to be full suit, yes?

I personally know a splitter (not on TLS unfortunately) that got a JS1. Unless her PS and DS make her an autoadmit I don't think she falls into that group given her sub 3.6.thewaves wrote:I wonder if we can get a consensus if this is more of the "autoadmit" batch of JS1s or just early submitters

Any of the three is acceptable.meowmeowmeow wrote:Random (and possibly dumb) question for the group. For Skype interview, what is appropriate to wear - suit, shirt and tie, or just collared shirt. I will be sitting at home, so it might be weird to be full suit, yes?
Jessica Soban wrote:My basic guidance is that you should present yourself in a professional manner—this interview is an element of your application, after all. If you are most comfortable in a suit, you are welcome to wear one, however a suit is not required. A nice dress shirt is appropriate for both women and men. A t-shirt is not. Hope that helps!

My numbers are 75th+ percentile GPA and 25-50th percentile LSAT... I have a feeling that this has a lot to do with most of us getting in apps literally once they opened up

As far as I can tell, all we know is that they sent out JS1s yesterday and this morning to people with a variety of numbers who went complete by early October.
I suspect they are in the process of reviewing apps based on two things 1) Index based on numbers and whatever else 2) date of submission. There's probably some randomness based on the people reading the apps doing whatever they feel like as well.
I bet they send more interview requests out this week.

I think you're right, my LSAT and GPA are close to their 25th percentiles. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to interpret the fact that I got a JS1 email.djfududeman wrote:My numbers are 75th+ percentile GPA and 25-50th percentile LSAT... Look at it as an opportunity to show them that there is more to you than your numbers. Look at this as the opportunity to make you case that you belong at HLS.Harry Belafonte wrote:I think you're right, my LSAT and GPA are close to their 25th percentiles. JS1. I applied Sep 24, status showed complete on 1 Oct, email stating it was complete on 10 October, and JS1 today. My numbers are below 25% GPA and above 75% LSAT. Also wondering if they are interviewing a lot more candidates than they will admit this time.

AFAIK that was what they did last year. Either way it isn't a bad sign.winstonsalem wrote:JS1. And for the ladies, since I struggle endlessly with dress codes with gray areas and figure y'all might too - I wore a button-down shirt and cardigan.Lavitz wrote:Any of the three is acceptable.meowmeowmeow wrote:Random (and possibly dumb) question for the group. I went complete 9/30. My hope is rapidly diminishing, and JS1s have only just started going out.

Sorry for the confusion. I meant in my e-mail inbox. Since I live abroad, if it came by snail mail it would have taken forever to reach me.Typhoon24 wrote:in the mail, too? im losing it over hereheythatslife wrote:JS1 in the mail! Woot!

Got an email today about how great Harvard is. I don't think my heart is strong enough for much of this.t-14orbust wrote:E-mail yesterday about Harvard's info sessions in SF and LA. JS1 @ 11:15 this morning! So pumped.
ETA: LSAT just below median and >75% GPA.

Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
It seems that every single person on TLS who have applied early with decent numbers has gotten JS1. I applied on 9/15, application went complete on 9/30, my gpa is between 25-50 percentile while my lsat is 75+. Admittedly I don't have great ec but I think they are decent while my PS and DS should not feature any grave grammatical error, I spent a month grooming the details and had it proof-read by 3 people. I have gotten into Duke and UVA as well so I think if there was something significantly problematic they would not have admitted me. I got a really nice email from the aplsa from Harvard so I do not think my numbers are awful either but still no news on JS1. Anyone else in a similarly frustration situation?

I'm sure they are just trying to see if they can make exceptions to their need-based financial aid policy to give us full rides. Policy changing moves like that take some time which I'm willing to give them.hcrimson2014 wrote:It seems that every single person on TLS who have applied early with decent numbers has gotten JS1.
