Btw, I could read back in the thread but since the HLS thread is 225 pages of a continuous stream of TLS-consciousness, I'd rather just ask: what's the turnaround from interview to decision?
Also just had my JS1 and can echo the same sentiments! JS is really nice and engaging. Despite the posts on this thread, the questions we discussed were more generic, e.g. "Why Harvard?", "What are the three characteristics you would hope for most in your peers at Harvard?", "What is your job like day-to-day?", "What specific subject areas are you interested in?", etc etc. Didn't really touch on my PS or DS. Overall felt good, lasted around ~20 minutes. Whether or not I get in, I'm honored just to be considered. Feel free to PM me for any other questions.

Not necessarily much of a troll (little bit of an idiot). He had his JS1 sometime over break.midwest17 wrote:Ask your friend how much of a troll this friend of a friend is.a.sleepyhead wrote:Friend of a friend just posted "Accepted to Harvard Law" on FB 22 minutes ago. (??!??)

I love that HLS is admitting a guy who's a "little bit of an idiot.'" Not that we aren't all a little bit idiotica.sleepyhead wrote:Not necessarily much of a troll (little bit of an idiot). I'm sure this has been addressed somewhere, but I couldn't find it on "What to Expect When You're Expecting", so I thought it would be worth re-asking: how quickly is the status checker updated after a call/email occurs? Is it like Michigan, where the checker is the leading indicator, or Columbia, where the checker might as well not exist?

No, he's very much the "post on FB while on the phone with JS" kind of guy.midwest17 wrote:Is it possible he hasn't checked his voicemail since 1/17?a.sleepyhead wrote:Not necessarily much of a troll (little bit of an idiot). Mine changed about 6 hours after my call.selden wrote:I'm sure this has been addressed somewhere, but I couldn't find it on "What to Expect When You're Expecting", so I thought it would be worth re-asking: how quickly is the status checker updated after a call/email occurs? Maybe he did get a call, but JS is legit sticking to her blog post and just calling people at the moment of the decision.

That's what I'm thinking...she heard us say "oh they're on track, probably no waves this week," and was like....oh really, well we'll see about that, TLSmidwest17 wrote:She saw us trying to predict waves, decided to mix it up.barrelofmonkeys wrote:Maybe he did get a call, but JS is legit sticking to her blog post and just calling people at the moment of the decision.

This would jive with there only being two admits on TLS on Tuesday. Does that mean JS2 will not be wave-like from this point on....

The solution is clearly for everyone to start talking about how there isn't going to be a large wave today, and then she'll have a big wave to make us wrong.lawschool22 wrote:That's what I'm thinking...she heard us say "oh they're on track, probably no waves this week," and was like....oh really, well we'll see about that, TLSmidwest17 wrote:She saw us trying to predict waves, decided to mix it up.barrelofmonkeys wrote:Maybe he did get a call, but JS is legit sticking to her blog post and just calling people at the moment of the decision.

I responded to this but it didn't post for some reason. It does seem like a funny question to try and answer at first, but the reality is that you should have legitimate reasons other than prestige for choosing Harvard. If you're good enough for Harvard, you're probably good enough for all of the other great schools that fall around it. For me, Harvard stands out as a leader in P.I., has some amazing clinics and profs, and an INCREDIBLE loan repayment program. I spoke about the first two in my interview, and I also mentioned that I felt drawn by what I anticipate to be an incredible student body.

Can confirm, received JS2 today. JS1 a month ago.
