Checking in. Thanks to all for great thread.
Anyone going to HLS shindig at the Marriott (L.A. Live) in downtown L.A. on the 30th? Will be held in Platinum Ballroom, which holds appx 2,000 people. Best parking is West Garage ($25).

If everyone just wants to add to the spreadsheet, it would take care of all these questions.luckystar84 wrote:JS1 people, congrats.
Want to help the rest of us out with stats (something like 50<x<75), date submitted/complete, and what slots you see? I.e., Are you able to choose only the first two weeks of Nov, and the rest is blanked out?

Right at the 25th percentile for GPA, at the 50% percentile for LSAT (I went complete on October 17th, pretty surprised I got an interview, but I have strong softs, so maybe that's it? Or maybe just because they're interviewing more people?). I could only schedule an interview up to early November.

On your last question, you cannot book more than 2 weeks in advance. And even within the two week window, only a handful of dates are available. At least that was my experience.luckystar84 wrote:JS1 people, congrats.

For someone oblivious to the setup, what is the spreadsheet and how do you add to it?Sourrudedude wrote:If everyone just wants to add to the spreadsheet, it would take care of all these questions.luckystar84 wrote:JS1 people, congrats.

No problem - on the first post there is a link to a Google spreadsheet that anyone can edit. People have put their numbers and stuff on it so we don't have to dig through the thread.hcrimson2014 wrote:For someone oblivious to the setup, what is the spreadsheet and how do you add to it?Sourrudedude wrote:If everyone just wants to add to the spreadsheet, it would take care of all these questions.luckystar84 wrote:JS1 people, congrats.

Anyone who has already had a JS1 THIS CYCLE willing to give some insights on how it went, who your interviewer was, what they asked, etc?

Darn, starting to look like my weak softs are going to be a factor after all. Oh well, can't say I'm surprised, here's to hoping next week mediocre numbered unexceptional resume people get JS1's!

For people awaiting their interviews, I would say that mine went almost exactly as described by last year's applicants for their JS1s. My interview was with Ann Taylor and had a mix of personalized questions about my resume/PS, and then some general law school applicant questions.

No it's just an admissions information session on Wednesday. The Asst Dir Admissions is scheduled to be there to answer questions, and HLS alums in the area are invited as well. There's also one in San Fran the day before.Amicus_Curiae2013 wrote:Are you talking about the law school forum on Saturday?A Series of BJs wrote:Checking in. Thanks to all for great thread.

I can only see the slots until the 7th. Above both medians but average softs, might even be below average softs but it is hard to tell.

Not a peep from Harvard yet. Strangely, I feel like I have a better chance of getting into Yale than getting into Harvard.

Interesting that the JS1s aren't just going out to applicants with strong numbers (ie above both medians or above both 75%). Two people on the spreadsheet report JS1s with sub 25% GPAs. I wonder if this means thay the applicant pool this year is weaker or if softs and PS are really making a difference.

Or they are just interviewing more people.jordan15 wrote:Interesting that the JS1s aren't just going out to applicants with strong numbers (ie above both medians or above both 75%). I think js stated on the blog that this year they are aiming at interviewing 1200 applicants. That's about 200 more than last year.

Last year was supposed to be 1200.crazyrobin wrote:Or they are just interviewing more people.jordan15 wrote:Interesting that the JS1s aren't just going out to applicants with strong numbers (ie above both medians or above both 75%). The article that said they were going to increase interviews was before last cycle. They had 1,200 last year and from the blog it looks like they are going to do about the same amount of interviews this year. Also, from talking with my two friends that have had interviews it seems like they are focusing much more on softs given the questions that have been asked. At this time last year there were not any splitters (at least on TLS) that were offered JS1's.crazyrobin wrote:Or they are just interviewing more people.jordan15 wrote:Interesting that the JS1s aren't just going out to applicants with strong numbers (ie above both medians or above both 75%). It is possible that the shift to focusing more on softs could be because of a weaker applicant pool but that doesn't seem to jive with the fact that several people ITT have stellar numbers and yet have not received a invite. That being said, I don't think that all is lost but I think that they are just interviewing what they perceive to be the best applicants overall right now. We will see if we see a shift in this with the release of the Oct. LSAT.

Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
I seem to notice that almost everyone who has submitted their applications are getting JS1. I'm just really curious and I know this has been asked way back years before but for this year, someone said Harvard may be interviewing like 1200 applicants for this year's cycle, how many sits do you think are gonna be filled just this year? And how many do you think there'd be seats for January onward? I'll be applying this December and still waiting for my October LSAT, I worry that for this year it'll be some sort of a disadvantage given that I notice that everyone seems to get the JS1 invite.
