I guess it depends how many additional applicants they get from people who normally wouldn't have been able to apply (aka February takers who wouldn't have taken an earlier test) but I doubt that would be very many people. I think what it translates into is that they are just going to be a little more decisive about decisions in both directions. So maybe a few more acceptances last year, which means they won't need to pull as many from the WL (and hence don't need as big a WL).drawstring wrote:LS, do you have any idea if that will translate to more held (in practice) applicants being accepted. I hope they don't get many more applicants as a result of the deadline extension....

Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
I really can't imagine it will be many. The far more likely scenario imho is that there are some December takers who waited to submit until they took the February test. But those people probably would have applied anyway most likely. Or the people who had December cancelled took Feb and applied, but they too would have applied before the deadline normally. I don't think HLS would get many people who wouldn't have normally applied before the standard deadline.Jessasaurus wrote:I hope they don't get many more applicants as a result of the deadline extension....

Same here.Jessasaurus wrote:I hope they don't get many more applicants as a result of the deadline extension....
My guess is that there won't be more applicants, but the late applicants that are submitted will be spread out across the month, rather than clumped at the end of January.

If they intend to do that then in theory they can just WL all of us JS1.5 right now. As a pessimist, I say our fate will depend on how we compare to the post-Feb JS1 in terms of "what we can add to the class". I think HLS will be safe in maintaining its numbers and might be more concerned about diversity.drawstring wrote:LS, do you have any idea if that will translate to more held (in practice) applicants being accepted. Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
I've went complete in November and haven't heard anything since. My LSAT score could be improved (<median) so I've signed up for the June LSAT. In previous cycles it seems there was activity on the wait list well into the summer, which would provide a window for a June score update before a final decision is made. Is there any tactful way of informing the admissions office that I'm retaking, or can I only hope that I'm on the wait list when I get my score (or better yet I get in without a score update )?

And when is the next JS2 wave? Also does JS herself make all of the JS2 calls?sup_stan wrote:if you flipped through last year's Harvard thread, after the Feb 20th (Wed) JS2 wave, a hold/rejection wave happened two days later (Friday), which would be today in this cycle. There were some JS2s on 3/1/2013 last cycle. and the 3/1 batch mostly consists of JS1s within a month. Not sure when the look-back wave would be.Black_Swan wrote:And when is the next JS2 wave? Last year there were some look backs scattered in the March and April waves, but it didn't seem like there was any wave that was particularly heavy on the long waiters until a bunch of them got in off the waitlist in May (though note LS's point above in terms of how that may be different this year). Not sure when the look-back wave would be.

I was added a full 24 hours before my interview. I haven't heard of anyone else being added that early and most people I think are added very close to it. So no need to worry until you're like 10 minutes after your scheduled time.Fianna13 wrote:Does anyone know how early prior to the interview do they add your skype account?

I just did some re-calculations with updated LSN data, and here are my current projections:
Total admitted: 617
Total rejected: 2,348
Remaining decisions: 2,520
Remaining acceptances: 233
Total admitted: 617
Total rejected: 2,348
Remaining decisions: 2,520
Remaining acceptances: 233

Well, we are getting later in the cycle and going by those numbers there are still over 1/4 of acceptances to go.

Interesting, what is the latest estimate on remaining JS1s? (My apologies if this was just mentioned recently, trying to catch up with the thread)lawschool22 wrote:I just did some re-calculations with updated LSN data, and here are my current projections:
