Finally got my email for the 13K. Email makes it sound like it's all we're getting from Hastings, everything else will come from federal?

No. Federal is loans only for law school.

Just got this email from Hastings (for those that got the 13k):
(Note: Please disregard this email if you have already received it. We are resending it because we have recently been made aware of a technical glitch that existed in our email system on the day it was originally sent. We apologize for any confusion this duplicate email may cause.)
If you're waiting on scholarship news you may want to see if it ended up in the spam filter.
(I had already received the initial email saying I got 13k)

Didn't get either email. I emailed them asking about it and got no response. I think I see a huge RETAKE sign in my future. LoL

You should seek out people who retook in real life. Most haven't done well. TLS is a very different sample of people.

Hastings better up their fin aid offers.
If Obama's proposed 2015 budget changes gain traction I am sorely screwed with only 13k off sticker and I bet I'm not the only one.

What's going on for the 2015 budget?
And yea see there's 2 examples of retakes and no better. I have tons of friends in that boat too.

I'm afraid to even ask the link between the proposed budget and law school.
Hopefully this won't devolve into partisan bickering.

Only thing I have seen:
"The budget would make permanent the American Opportunity Tax Credit, benefiting about 11.5 million families and students with an average of more than $1,100 to help pay college costs. Another proposal would simplify tax treatment of 9 million Pell grant recipients."

Is there something I am missing?

There are two other threads about it that you can find using searchwords PSLF or PAYE

Define well?
"From a scoring standpoint, test takers who repeat the LSAT increase their scores by an average of 2.8 points the second time they take the test, and increase by another 2.1 points the third time they take the test (as compared to the second time). While those are only averages, they suggest that sitting for the LSAT again is likely to bump up your score..."

Thanks for the link. I quickly skimmed through the thread. If that budget passes I would be disappointed since I am interested/considering a public service job. With that said - a lot has to happen for it to pass and given the current situation in the house I'm not confident that would actually happen.
Also, the "head in the sand" comment is a bit over the top for this type of forum.

I didn't, but they told me to apply for it before I received a decision. I wouldn't imagine that this has any bearing.

Powerscore is a LSAT prep company. What do you expect them to say? Also 2 points is within the Standard Deviation range.

My thoughts exactly. It does not surprise me that a test prep company would encourage people to retake (and pay for more test prep while they are at it). While I had the same score while taking it twice I have friends that improved but not by much. I had one friend who actually received a lower score the second time around. This is all anecdotal. To each their own but taking it twice was enough for me.
