the only thing you need to know about the midwest/south is that neither region is as competitive and pretentious as the Northeast. PRETENTIOUS NORTH EASTERNERS UNITE

I don't know what you mean by "competitive," but the NE is definitely full of assholes.

So, I sent a scholarship negotiation letter over a month ago and still have not heard back. Is it acceptable to send a follow-up e-mail, or is that too tacky/pushy? Has anyone tried sending a follow-up e-mail, and, if so, were you successful?

I sent a follow up email after 2 weeks and got a response, then I sent another follow up with a deadline from another school and they got back to me with a new offer in time.

ITT: Northeasterners butthurt about the truth. The term 'Masshole' exists for a reason. :D

Judging by every interaction I've had with Arizona and New Mexico, I'm not entirely sure the Southwest has people that aren't selling things on the side of the road.

Also you have a really big ditch down there.

I've seen so many things on the side of the road in Arizona. Recently, I saw a man dressed as Jesus carrying a ginormous cross along one of our main boulevards. So there's that.

Step 1) Take off wedding ring if necessary.
Step 2) ONLY deal with male employees (this is crucial)
Step 3) Be really really nice and flirty even if you're a cold hearted bitch
Step 4) Keep doing step three
Step 5) Free stuff

Its basically a bullet-proof plan.

If you can talk about why you are sincerely interested in WUSTL and in St. Louis then that helps. Most of the interviews seemed to be more about "getting to know you". But showing that you actually want to be at Wash U is the main thing.

I find that the older the male employee is, the less this step matters.

If bound suspiciously ends up on Law Review without doing write-on or starts to get free casebooks from the bookstore, i'll know why

As a waitlist candidate your primary goal is to reassure them that you'll attend if admitted. The adcomm wants to avoid admitting a WL applicant only to have them turn the offer down (which hurts our yield). So definitely get your questions answered, but be sure to express why you want to attend WUSTL

So true... Unfortunately, the 60-80 age group isn't usually working at a bar or apple store.

crosspost from the ask a law students thread, but I need an answer asap to quell this panic attack I'm having: is there any place in St. Louis to buy cheap oranges? I eat a ton of these fruits, and I don't want to have to stop.

i wasn't sure if this was a serious question when i saw it in the other thread lol, but you can get cheaper produce. I think Schnucks might be more pricey since it's a regional/local chain. Try wal-mart or sam's club? those will probably have cheaper prices
