That's one of the many reasons WUSTL appeals to me!

Do grads get any love in KC? Or is it taken up by UMKC, Kasas, Missouri, etc?
WUSTL seems like a good fit for what you described, if the price is right. I agree with the replies above that UMN and Iowa should be on your short list, and I might add Notre Dame depending on how you feel about Indiana and Illinois etc. (and if you can get any money out of their tight little Leprechaun fists :) )

I may be wrong, but I think you made a thread before about some roots in FL as well, so I think WUSTL would have the advantage that if for some reason you didn't want to end up in the midwest at all you wouldn't be as stuck as an Iowa or UMN grad. Obviously (if you have the stats) your preferences seem to align more with Northwestern or UMich than anything else, so consider those too if applicable.

But lacking the numbers to make T14 schools feasible, I think WUSTL matches your preferences quite well.

Good luck! Bastille is a chill group btw, nice pick. Also, if your username is an Ed Sheeran reference, you get a double-win gold star :) . Great live performer.
Bastille is unreal, they're playing SNL in a couple of weeks! And YES, first person to catch it so far. I saw him at MSG and am comfortable saying it is the best concert I ever have been to or will go to. Thanks for the luck!
Ah, thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately I was unable to see them live when they were in town recently.

However, I had the most excellent fortune in catching Ed Sheeran live at the Pageant here in STL last year. It is a small venue (<2000 people) so he was able to do some unplugged and a capella songs. Needless to say, it was awesome.

*So musically inclined WUSTL people: keep your eyes open, every now and then we'll have rising stars in small venues because of the central location of the city. It can be great and cheap opportunity to catch live music*

And no problem, just relax and put your best foot forward. The interviews are a breeze.

Question for those who have interviewed: how punctual were they with the time? I scheduled it for 1PM, but still have not had any contact. I took an hour off of work with the guise that it would take no more than 30 minutes. However, I sit here awaiting a phone call for 15 minutes with no luck.

Good to hear, got the call now. No offer of admission over the phone, but was told that they would recommend me strongly for a consideration of admissions and that I will hear back this afternoon.

How long after status updates to "Interview Complete" did you get a decision? WUStL is one of my top choices, and could be persuaded with good $

Interview this morning and in this afternoon.

Discussed scholarship with the interviewer. She mentioned that they sent one batch, but she seemed to indicate that the next batch might be a while. She said it wouldn't be uncommon for a January admit to see 6-8 weeks between admission and a scholarship offer. The way she talked it also seemed that there will probably be a mailed acceptance packet that does not have to contain scholly info.

Thanks for the input. You're right, I have FL/Deep South ties, and that's where I targeted for the most part. However, I applied to WUSTL so I still have the option to head back north if that's what my wife and I decide. I loved the campus when I visited and the fact that it gives me a little more geographic flexibility was another big plus. I'm on the verge of T14 numbers, but more on par with 15-30 range. Just hoping WUSTL decides to be at least a little generous with $ this year.

Another Ed fan here. :D He really is great live!

Also, got in today! For those still waiting on interviews, mine was ~15 minutes late as well.

I was admitted in late November and I have yet to receive anything beside the original acceptance letter. No admit package or scholarship information.

Hoping the same for all you guys here!

Glad you enjoyed visiting, I recommend it to those who haven't (but maybe wait until the snowpocalypse clears up! :) ). Great campus and potential living spaces around the area on the cheap.

Keep holding on for that all-important $$$ info!
