What is the most hipster part of St. Louis? (and also the most hipster part that's close to campus, if the most hipster part is in another part of the city)

I completely agree with you! From the beginning I thought I was headed to DC for sure, but now I feel like GW has to work extra hard to impress me this weekend.
The school and the people at WUSTL just give the right vibe...definitely who you want to spend the next three years with.

For those of you planning on attending, how are you planning to move down there. As in, when are you planning on going down there/looking for an apartment/etc.?
For instance: I'd love to rent a 2 bedroom apartment with someone in a high rise CWE (I'm a sucker for good views), they look really nice, and are cheap as hell ($500-600 per person). Don't know logistically how/when to go about doing that.

I just read someone reporting in another thread that "WUSTL is slashing its class size." Is there any validity at all to this statement?

I imagine they are referring to the 300 down to ~150-180 over the last few years. If I remember right sublime or cuse said they may go up a smidge this year.bound wrote:I just read someone reporting in another thread that "WUSTL is slashing its class size." Not 100% on attending yet, just because of the money, but I'm going to be looking at apartments over ASW. I know that's not possible for you, but if you want I can take pics/ask anything relevant to what you're looking for.Lebrarian_Booker wrote:For those of you planning on attending, how are you planning to move down there. Just chill until ASW and ask wustlers about moving dates and places. Though, hipsters are so passé now, man. Gotta get with that Normcore. Remember, can't spell "style" without STL.

I'm not 100% yet (contingent on $$), but if I were to attend I'm thinking that I'll do a July 1 date. No one wants to be moving around the next year during OCI....

Thanks for the offer! I guess my question is more geared toward when people are planning on actually putting down a deposit for an apartment. As it stands, I'm planning to move down end of July/early August. Wonder if that'd be enough time to stay in a hotel for a few days and find a place. I'm crazy, aren't I? I need help with this whole "planning to move" bit, lol.

I've never done this whole apartment search thing by myself before, so no clue. I would worry about finding a good place in such a short amount of time (esp with roommates).Lebrarian_Booker wrote:

I am planning on looking at them now, depositing 30 days or so out and moving in August 1st.

TLS's original Kanye thinks this should all be resolved via an N64 Smash Bros tournament. You can dress like the teams from Dodgeball, if you want.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
