I almost reached the end but I didn't have enough puzzle pieces (think stars for Mario 64) to unlock the final map. I tried to collect enough puzzle pieces but there was this one map where I found only 2/10. That map sucked ass. If you fall in the water, your health starts going down because it was oily and toxic (compared to just regular water which your character could swim easily in). Throughout middle school I had the occasional dream of playing that game and beating it. Even in middle school, I bought Banjo Tooie (the sequal to the game, which was 180) and I actually beat that one. The first one was just too damn hard and it was left unfinished.

Fast forward to two summers ago. I was at my then girlfriend's house and her little sister was playing with the N64. She eventually stopped. I took a look at her game selection and lord and behold, it was Banjo Kazooie. I asked my girlfriend if I could spend the day or two playing it and she was okay with it. Not to be a complete asshole, I took turns with her playing the game. We took turns with the different worlds. It was really easy and I had collected enough puzzle pieces to unlock the final map without even trying the last two maps. I did them anyway just for fun. I even got 10/10 of the puzzle pieces from Rusty Bucket Bay, the shitty ass map that conquered me as a child.

Once I unlocked the final map, I grabbed the controller from my girlfriend's hand. I told her, "Look, this is going to sound crazy, but as a child, I dreamed of this moment multiple times. I have to beat the game." She was kind of reluctant but let me anyway. I entered and finally beat the shit out of that witch Gruntilda. It was 180.

Hated BK. I could never figure the damn game out.

I interviewed on Friday and was told that I should expect to hear back sometime early this week. My status checker changed to Interview Complete today, idk what time but it was definitely changed by 11am. Idk what that means about a decision but today is definitely the last day that counts as "early this week."

With your stats I'd say you're definitely in, and likely with a nice offer as well

Idk about that. I'm pretty good.

Stop it. All of you. I will have Super Smash at my apartment in the CWE this fall. Just throwing it out there right now. I play for KEEPS!

Edit: Now that I'm reevaluating this post, I wouldn't play for keeps because if, by some miraculous miracle, you're able to beat me, you'd be taking my N64 and/or Smash Bros game. I can't live without my heart....

A tourney at KanyeShrug's apartment is the only way that we can settle this once and for all.

That game was WAY too hard for a young kid. Throughout my childhood, no game stumped me as much as that one did.

I couldn't even figure out how to get off the first area, and I spent hours trying to figure it out. It seemed like it took 10 hours to advance 1 little bit.

With the absence of decisions today and Friday, makes me wonder if their approach to decisions has changed. Especially since we're on the last edge before a lot of those 4/1 deposit deadlines.

I have no knowledge to suggest this is the case, but I'm wondering if with the huge scholarship bump that went out recently they aren't waiting to see how many deposits shake out on 4/15, and then will do additional admitting as needed after that.

I felt really bad....buuuuuut I HAD to beat it. The thing is, she never beat the game either. But she did not get nearly as close to beating it as I did. As a kid, I played the game multiple times to get stuck on the same god damn map. I could never collect enough puzzle pieces to unlock the final world. Throughout the end of elementary school and middle school, even though I moved on and played other games, I still DREAMED about beating this one. As a kid, she ONLY made it to and gave up at the 2nd map. I made it all the way to the final one (there were probably like 13 worlds in the game). The torture was real for me. I let her play most of the maps as well as the most fun missions too while we were taking turns.

The admitted students thread is pretty dead, so I'm gonna pose this question here:

My girlfriend and I are seriously considering these 3 apartments...

1. Central West End City Apartments
2. The Embassy
3. Montclair on the Park

Just wanted to see if anybody has insight on any of these 3. Sublime? 'Cuse?

Thanks for your help, guise.

My bf had in a two-bed two-bath in Montclair for a year with one of his classmates. Decent apartment, TONS of space, great location. Any specific questions?

Just from perusing the internetz, I'd say those 3 are pretty comparable. Just wanted to see if anybody had some glaringly bad/good review to offer.
