Did everyone just receive an application for the Eagleton Scholarship?
I can't believe it would actually be directed at me. It asks for diversity. I'm a white male from the midwest.

Same here. And for those of us eagerly waiting on merit scholarships it was quite the tease.Hoosier2 wrote:I did as wellLErikson2 wrote:.

Yeah haha based on the subject I was like wow, I got some named scholly maybe, but then was like ohhhhhh. I'm not sure what the chances of getting this are, but I count as diverse so it's worth filling out the application.XO_MissCourtney wrote:Same here. Unless your screen name is your actual name, in which case I could understand the mix-up.Lebrarian_Booker wrote:Did everyone just receive an application for the Eagleton Scholarship?

Do you know anyone who has had any experience with this new dean?

only the SBA president and the faculty who were on the search committee. Even as an SBA rep, we were kept in the dark about who the candidates were. When they were bringing the four candidates in to meet the full faculty, they refused to reveal identities until the day before day of. It's a very tightly controlled process.Ricky-Bobby wrote:Do you know anyone who has had any experience with this new dean?
There are probably WUSTL alums who had her for class when she used to teach her from 2000-2006.

I can't wait for the new Dean's press conference:
"I knew I had to get out of that SoCal shiTTThole asap after that rankings drop. This is totally a momentum play. I'm gonna WUSTL all day err day until we go up more spots. Not 1 spot, not 2, not 3..."

I almost asked whether you knew anyone who had her as a professor when she taught before, then I realized you were probably still in high school at that time.cusenation wrote:only the SBA president and the faculty who were on the search committee. WUSTL doesn't have much staying power at their current spot. They were 23 just recently and their big firm placement is nowhere near as good as some schools they just passed.Fiero85 wrote:I can't wait for the new Dean's press conference:

Re: WUSTL c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
the 23 was an anomaly, just during the time I've been applying/attending WUSTL it's been 18, 19, 23, 18. Our BigFirm placement was historically lower than some of our peers, but that was when our class sizes were 250-350. We've shrunk down to 200, my class is like 185 right now or something. How much that'll change our placement vis-a-vis rankings remains to be seen. And also our peer reputation/lawyer reputation scores have always been fairly stable, which matter more than the employment numbers when calculating the rankings. And I generally trust that we'll stay ahead of our immediate peers in terms of admissions numbers.zman wrote:WUSTL doesn't have much staying power at their current spot. Could we drop? sure. Anyone outside of T14 could, but i wouldn't say it's certain that we'll drop lol

She is really good friends with one of the best constitutional scholars in the country Lee Epstein who also teachers at USC. If she can convince here to move the WUSTL with here, that would be a HUGE get for WUSTL.Ricky-Bobby wrote:Do you know anyone who has had any experience with this new dean?

I think Scott means to point out that the two are in a relationship, not friends, and the article confirms both that fact and that Epstein is indeed joining the WUSTL faculty as well in May.zman wrote:Well she is pretty well known..
