Scholarship offered last week and finally time to make a post about it.

Offered $120k over 3 years. Took about 3 weeks from admission to scholarship offer. Very exciting!

Stats:
GPA between 3.71 to 3.78
LSAT between 167 to 168

EDIT: Reduced the range of my stats to give a more accurate representation.

Received scholarship offer today as well. Grateful, but hoping to be able to negotiate some more.

Fiero, I nominate you for captain of the Wash U cheerleading squad. You're way too upbeat to be a prospective law student. Revel in self-contempt and masochism like the rest of us, dammit!

Haha being upbeat now does not mean I will be this way around 2 months into 1L. Just you wait!

Yeah, right. You're going to be the guy raising his hand to tell everyone about how his super-unique life experiences apply to the hypo at hand. You'll be smiling, too. ;)

When is ASW? Do they give travel stipends?

New member here. Had my WUSTL interview Tuesday, they requested it. Seemed to fit the description (90% sell, 10% interview). Rumor has it that decisions come out the Friday after you interview, but I didn't get anything today. Anyone else have the same/similar experience?

Prevailing sentiment is that interviews strongly suggest acceptance at WUSTL. I'm a splitter with a 167 LSAT, FWIW.

Sometimes they give decisions the next Friday. I know the wait sucks but an answer may come next week.

Yeah, the wait sucks but it's good to know. Thanks for the reply.

Am I on the right track that interviews are strong indicators of being accepted at WUSTL? Previous posts allude to this.

They are from what I have seen on here, but people have also been wait listed after having one. Did you get any hints or vibes from your interviewer?

Not my style (no legitimate interesting experiences lol) . But you'll just have to join me at WUSTL and wait and see!

I had Katherine Scannell, and she was very very friendly. Commented that I had an interesting application. She spoke a lot about housing and what STL had to offer, almost seemed like "when you get here" without saying it. My wife was close by (skype) and she said the same. WL after a conversation like that would be kinda messed up, IMO. Rejection even worse. But you know how it is, though. Always wondering if you said somethingn or asked a question or seemed too aggressive.

One day I'm 95% certain I'm going to Wash U. The next I'm 95% certain I'm going to Chicago. I don't know anymore. Just have to wait for scholly info from U of C. Choosing between dream schools is so hard. Pity me, everybody.

Ok, I'm done whining about my dumb luck now.

I had her too, she was 180.

Yeah, very friendly. Really a pleasant interview. What's more, I left the interview very impressed by WUSTL, even more that I already was. I'd love to go there.

Yeah boo hoo man

But really, UChi was my #2 choice and highest ranking app, so I know the feels. Realistically that's the only school I woulda turned down WUSTL for.

If I wanted to work in Chicago or big cities further away it might be worth the money difference/debt, but I don't, so it's really not. Idk what your career goals are though.

I'm pretty hyped about march ASW! Also waiting to hear from one app, but I'm a recent local and 99% sure on WUSTL.

How are you down to these two? What happened to Northwestern with $$$?!

You're right. In the absence of scholly info from either Chicago school, my brain defaults to sticker. So NU gets knocked out for being stuck in the middle of job prospects while still being the most expensive. This will obviously change if NU makes it rain, which I don't expect. I'm really just over-thinking all of this with incomplete data, so I need to take my own advice and chill out until April. You all know how that goes, though.

And Fiero, I know I want biglaw. Whether that's lockstep market biglaw or St. Louis biglaw I don't really mind, as long as I can live in the country (commute times lol). I'd love to stay here in St. Louis, but I want the best shot at jobs at the same time. I should find data on availability of St. Louis biglaw to those interested versus self-selection under-employment in other markets. Would the large firm score be higher if more students gunned for StL biglaw?

Don't know if anyone else was just watching, but TJ Oshie just sold me on St. Louis... Is it possible to negotiate Blues tickets into our financial package?

They have student nights pretty often, I think.

Ticket prices are going to be insane next year, what with Stanley being in St. Louis after this season.

The only one who needs to watch out for jynxes is Halak. If that guy doesn't get out of his own head Elliot will be seeing a lot more action.

Ultimately, as long as the Hawks lose the season is a success.
