This was my best grade of the year and it came as a total surprise. It doesn't matter if you read or don't read, like the guy or hate the guy, participate or don't participate, this is going to be your most nerve-wracking and frustrating exam to study for because it's unclear if he even knows what he's looking for. I honestly did not even do practice exams because I had no idea what a model answer would look like or how to discuss it with other people in the class. For those of you in section D who also have Tamanaha, get ready to change gears and quickly. Those two professors could not be more polar opposites.
That being said, Konig does tip his hand during the term. He spends 15 minutes going through the facts of each case because he's a historian by blood, and his understanding of property law is that it is very fact specific. So when you're practicing, don't get caught up in the legal principle and perfectly expressing it - the Sprankling version will do. The important part is understanding which facts are critical, and how slight tweaks to them change the entire hypothetical. The tweaking was the difference between people that were median and the people that did exceptionally. Konig wants to hear a bunch of hypotheticals he hasn't even put in the question. If you go off on a tangent about what would happen if people in the problem died, or got divorced, or were crossing their fingers when they made certain promises, you're actually starting to think like him. And may god have mercy on your soul.
Also, general tip, when a professor starts speaking in another language or laughing at his own jokes, take notes.
Konig was my worst doctrinal grade, but this is credited. I tried to treat it like a LS exam. Don't.
Hi, sorry to bother you but I saw this and was hoping you could please elaborate? I have Konig now and I went to him yesterday and he said his test will be like any other law school test and you should approach it the same way. Is that incorrect? If you don't mind me asking, what approach to the test do you think is best?
Thanks in advance for your help, I really appreciate it, and hope you've got an amazing SA at somewhere like cravath!

I would say skip the thank you. Totally unnecessary and, I think, not normal. Also, this is last year's thread. This year's is:Life2good893 wrote:Got a very large scholarship offer yesterday... normal to send a thank you email?
