I have been invited to schedule an interview, but I still have not received a status checker. I'm going to e-mail them.

Maybe they're checking this thread because I was emailed a status checker this morning.

lol probably coincidence.cannibal ox wrote:Maybe they're checking this thread because I was emailed a status checker this morning.
BUT
The adcomm does read/check TLS. So be careful about what you post here or in other threads. I know that they're usually able to figure out who's who based on the personal information that people share on this site. There was an adcomm worker that knew who I was and most of the other regular WUSTL posters. Things like LSN make it so much easier for adcomms to figure out who you are
It probably won't matter if you're just asking general admissions questions or sharing basic info. But keep it professional...and maybe don't talk about the schools you're negotiating with and stuff like that. If you need advice/talk about that stuff then PM the current students or each other

Interesting, I had not thought of it that way.cusenation wrote:It depends on what impact releasing scholarships early will have...Sure maybe some kids will be locked in early, but there's a good chance that admits use a big WUSTL scholarship to negotiate with other schools and eventually attend a different school. If i'm going to use a scholarship from WashU to negotiate with peer schools or even T14's, i'd rather have it early so I have all winter/spring to negotiate. If I don't get the WashU scholly until like February/March, it gives me significantly less time to negotiate before I have to make a decision.Fiero85 wrote: Agreed, I am hoping for my own sanity and for the school's sake that they are more proactive this year and give people $$$ offers to consider early on rather than in April.
Obviously the scholly committee will do what it wants/plans, but I for one would rather have 0L's feel a little anxiety for a few months and end up with a stronger 1L class instead of allaying their anxiety early only to have them defect to different schools after they've used WUSTL $$$ to negotiate all winter/spring.
Yes most applicants don't even know that they can negotiate, so this might not be a problem. But for at least my class there were a crapton of TLS lurkers that read the threads on this site and knew that they could negotiate.
I would suggest that perhaps top applicants who are initially only interested in Wash U for negotiation purposes would actually be more likely to consider visiting/attending if they had it as one of their first acceptances and first scholarship offers. It seems to me like in previous years applicants had their mind set on another school already or were withdrawing before their final $$$ offer from WUSTL was sent.
Just in general it seems like a net change in attendance is unlikely if the whole process where moved up by a few months. I doubt the minority of students who negotiate at all will do so much better in the negotiation process with other schools from having a WUSTL offer on the table that it will backfire into a material exodus from the WUSTL class.
People who don't wanna go to Wash U for whatever reason will likely not be swayed, but I think campaigning sooner rather than later is the right call.

Btw everyone, if you have any questions about WUSTL, the Campus, St. Louis, housing, etc, feel free to ask and I can try and answer since I spent 4 years of my life at this place. I think...and i could be wrong...that that qualifies me to answer some questions about WashU.
Fingers crossed that December goes well.

Hi everyone! So I applied back in September and as far as I can remember my app said complete in review back on 10/8, followed by an update on 10/30 App Documents Received. anyone else with a similar odd update? Does this mean that my file is still in review or is it back in the queue? Any shared experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

In general the WUSTL status checker is useless as far as guessing where in the pipeline your application is. I went from complete to admit without any change. But it sounds like they just got all your documents from LSAC or something like that. I wouldn't read too much into it.Snowboarder1588 wrote:Hi everyone! I got this same update, and assume that they're ready to review it at any point.Snowboarder1588 wrote:Hi everyone! Thank you! I submitted around 9/30, I think I went complete around 10/18 (status checker issue just like everyone else, but that's when they asked for an interview), I interviewed on 10/22 where the woman essentially told me to wait for good news in the next week-ish.samoby wrote:Awesome! go to GULC --> work for federal gov't --> gov't shuts down.snapdragon25 wrote: Haha I'm in at georgetown and holding out for northwestern, but I promised wannabe I'd come to ASW, so hopefully I'll see you all then!!

go to GULC --> you go to a law center. not a school, a center.
go to GULC --> watch them get spanked by Syracuse basketball every year --> sad
But in all seriousness, congrats! My feelings about GULC or any non-HYSCCN school basically comes down to the debt issue
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
