I received an unsolicited increase earlier and then solicited an increase recently. I received an email that basically seemed to say no after I asked, but then got an email yesterday with an increase.lwschool2014 wrote:Has anyone had success negotiating yet?

They're probably waiting until after the first deposit to see how the class is shaping up.PB&J.D. wrote:Post-interview Status Check Update: 3/4

I've been wondering about this as well. There are a few schools I haven't heard anything from, and I'm wondering if I should be expecting rejections.PB&J.D. wrote:Post-interview Status Check Update: 3/4

Except for the sunburn I got, St. Louis was pretty nice. Sorry I missed all you guys during the ASD events.

i heard this is frowned upon. you should check your schools stance on this issue. for instance, columbia states they would revoke your offer if they find out you had multiple deposits at a time. Usually in May LSAC releases a list to all schools about students who have multiple deposits.mrs.miawallace wrote:does anyone know for sure if its okay to deposit two schools the first round...?

It appears that this is OK at least from the WashU side. Here's language from the admitted students website:mrs.miawallace wrote:does anyone know for sure if its okay to deposit two schools the first round...?
"Scholarship recipients may not have deposits/seat reservations at multiple law schools after the second deposit deadline."
The second deposit deadline being June 1, it looks like it is acceptable to have multiple deposits down until that date.

It's totally kosher for the first deposit. Gotta choose by June 1 though. And I think the schools will know about it after a May 15 release from LSAC. Good luck with your decision!

Deposit in. Scholarship negotiation email sent as well. We'll see what happens. I got an email from Associate Dean Scannell saying she enjoyed our conversation and needs me to deposit so that I can coach her kids in baseball so hopefully that bodes well for their willingness to increase post-deadline haha

On May 15th when schools are able to see if you deposited at more than one school, does anyone know whether they can see which schools you deposited to, or only how many?

Re: WUSTL c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
Apparently our adcomm has created something called a Dean's Fellowship for this year. Here's a guide on determining its value IF you're still on the fence abt WUSTL.
1. Do you want to clerk? If yes...
2. Who is your faculty mentor?
That's it. The guaranteed full ride only adjusts for tuition increases which is a negligible boost from your likely original "full ride".
A guaranteed RA position is a joke because RA positions aren't hard to get. Are you above median? Are you capable of emailing your prof to ask? Does your prof need an RA? Congrats you just got an RA.
If your mentor is Lee Epstein, then the fellowship has value. If it's Konig, then demand right now that they change your mentor.
The fellowship should only influence your decision if it's valuable. The value is determined by the identity of your faculty mentor.
ETA: If you're already committed to WUSTL and just happened to get the Fellowship, then congrats . This post is only relevant to 0L's who are still on the fence about attending

FYI for fellow super-splitters, my scholarship has gone from 0 to 60k to 120k since last Wednesday(solicited). WUSTL truly is an LSAT whore. If you are still on the fence keep pestering them.

Two scholarship increases in the past week (one solicited and one unsolicited). Three increases in all, and I've gone from 12k a year to a full ride. There's hope for splitters! This is now a much harder choice.
