Yeah mine is always updated by the time I wake up, but that doesn't stop me from checking on it a few times during the day when I start thinking about it... like right now. And, still complete.

michigan is so nice in their emails :).

but i don't think i have received my status checker yet. I've gotten a "we will send you the checker in a week" email, but that's it. i applied like a week and a half ago, but i didn't have my letters of rec in, and submitted the LORs yesterday. is this normal?

It took two weeks for them to send me the status checker. Things moved really quickly after that though.

How quickly after the status checker did most of you get answers?

It seems like it took about two weeks for half of the people in this thread, don't worry! (And yes, they are so nice and very quick as well)

cool!
this is a very specific-to-scoobers question but do you all think i'll get the status checker based off of when I received the email or when I submitted my LORs (AKA submitted everything else)?

I found out 8 days after receiving the status checker though I'd been complete for more like 2 weeks.

How do you know when you were complete if you didn't have the status checker?

This is a very specific-to-scoobers response but I think you would get the status checker based off of when you received the email  Your application may take longer to go complete, but I don't think this should slow down your status checker. Honestly the longer without the status checker the better... I check it way too much even though I know it updates once a day haha.

I got my status checker on 10/30 (though I'd been using it for a few days prior because I'm Mich UG so I already had my ID number). I found out on 11/15 (a day I shall never forget). I submitted on 10/23, so everything moved kind of quickly for me, so you may want to disregard my timeline.

Just wanted to share my info with the crowd.

Received on Oct 24th
Status check on Oct 30th

Just checked the status checker this morning (November 18th) and I'm accepted! Received the packet in the mail today, too.

Good luck to everyone else! I'm spending my evening researching Michigan and the Ann Arbor area. If anyone has any recommendations for websites / resources to check out, please feel free to share!

For those wondering about my numbers, I was around the median for GPA, but have a top LSAT score and good work experience / softs.

Congratulations! While I don't have recommendations per se, you should definitely end up visiting the school. While you have numbers that should get you into the T6, my visit a couple weeks ago really blew me away, and it's not like they were pulling out all the stops for an ASW/ASD or something. Michigan is definitely different for sure. Well anyways, congrats and good luck with the rest of the cycle!

The pictures you posted of the law school were beautiful. Love those gothic-style buildings.

If anyone has any questions about Ann Arbor, feel free to shoot me a PM! I live in the city as a Michigan UG, and I grew up in the area. I'm definitely biased, but I'd be happy to offer some information if it would be helpful to anyone!

Are you thinking of living in the LC, or are you leaning towards something else since you're already so familiar with the area?

I'll definitely be living off campus, but only because I live with my long-term boyfriend who is a year behind me here at Michigan (so he will be here at least one to two years while I'm in law school). We actually had to commit to our housing before I found out if I got in in order to keep our current place, so I know where I will be living next year (fortunately, I don't have to find someone to take over my lease most likely, or move, yay!). But, if I were single/not living with someone, I'd be in the LC in a heartbeat. It's beautiful, and no housing location on campus can beat its proximity.

Oh ok yeah that makes sense. Well that's perfect that you got in then! Yeah I was looking online at apartments and stuff nearby, a little prematurely clearly, and nothing really swayed me away from the LC.

Yeah, I mean, once you have spent some time on campus and decide where you like spending time, you might find a place you like. But, there isn't anything on campus that will make you say "Oh, screw the LC, I've just got to live here!" (unless you want a full apartment with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances and a view of campus, and want to spend $1600 per month on it. If so, I can point you somewhere.) I don't know if you've discovered them yet, but oxford residential leases the majority of the houses and apartments on campus, so if you're exploring, you could check out what they have available. When you finally get that yellow portfolio and jump drive, I can suggest some more serious places to check out (though, like I said, it would really be for your post-LC experience, because I just don't know of anything better than that. I know of some nice, fairly inexpensive apartments, but you just can't beat the proximity and community of the LC).

~3.9/180. This seems to call into question, particularly given Dean Zearfoss' blog post, TLS conventional wisdom re. Michigan YPing.
