I did.
I wrote one
I didn't, but like I said before, my app is overall pretty UMich oriented, between the professor tenure locations, my personal statement, and the two supplementals I submitted (one was diversity and the other was more generally why law).

Also, congrats, swords.for.48k!

No Why Mich from me. I added a bit into my PS but no separate essay and submitted one supplemental (DS).

Thanks, alex.cm!

Ideally, people should update the spreadsheet, and those questions will be answered, with analytics as well.

Yes! At least from what I've read on their website that seems to be TCR.

Got a letter with a handwritten note from Dean Zearfoss and a viewbook today. And the viewbook is awesome. Really impressed with Michigan so far. If I get in, it's likely one of my top choices.

Given how fast a lot of people are hearing back, I'm gonna start getting really worried this week

No no don't do that to yourself! I honestly wouldn't start worrying until the first week of December. It's very early and the people who are getting answers quickly are the ones who could boost Michigan's numbers aka auto-admits. If they have to take a little time with our apps it doesn't mean we're getting denied. It means they have reason to keep considering us.

Very true. Auto-dings usually get passed through relatively quickly when waves of decisions come out, so longer wait is definitely not a bad thing. Plus, Scotth724 has an awesome app, so definitely no reason to stress.

Haha well not worried in a bad way really, just more excited/nervous. Obviously for the both of us, if we get in we're getting into our top choice and our cycle will be over.

Well I am definitely nervous right along with you! I would love for both of us to end with the best scenario! My gut says yes but the facts aren't solid until the facts are solid so I'm on the edge of my seat.

I was far from an auto-admit, one above median LSAT way below on GPA. That being said I wouldn't start worrying yet.

By looking at the spreadsheet and the various complete dates, I think it's safe to say that those who wrote a Why Michigan, or tailored their app in some way to show interest, are receiving decisions (acceptances) more quickly, even if they submitted their app later.

Basically, I'm annoyed I didn't write a Why Michigan.

You shouldn't worry too much about it, but I'm sure you can email them one if you wanted!

Didn't write a Why Mich but definitely mentioned why its program was tailored to my needs. I didn't just name drop a few things.

So, I'm neurotic: I check my important-to-me status checkers on my phone as soon as I open my eyes in the morning (or, I did, rather - now that I'm in at Michigan, I don't do that anymore), and then a time or two throughout the day. I realize that Michigan only updates once per day, at a random time, but that face did not cease my insanity.

FWIW: My status was updated to the admit text when I woke up at 8:00am on Friday, but was complete at 1:00am when I went to bed that morning.
