Dinged today as well. Last checked sometime mid-last week.

Not surprising given my #'s, but with a fee waiver, it was worth a shot.

People that were dinged today... did you find out through email or status checks?

I'm scared to check :(

In today via status checker (and envelope to my apartment). 3.7/167. 2 years WE, some decent to good softs (publications in undergrad journals, honors thesis award, community service, first in family to go to college).

You and I have very similar softs and stats. Hopefully, I'll hear something soon. :/ When did you go complete/submit?

Unfortunately I don't have dates as I hardly checked my status checker. Submitted early January (like first week), went complete after about a week, then heard back today. So I'd say about 2 weeks between complete and decision, which seems really quick.

Congrats!!

Did you get your envelope today? If so, you've probably had a decision for at least a few days, as the status checker generally has the decision before the envelope is postmarked. Either way, though, that's darn quick!

Yep -- just got my envelope today.

Kind of funny, actually. I got an email from my apartment building saying I had an envelope from UM admissions. To me, this meant the envelope didn't fit in my mailbox, so I thought that was a good sign. I was a bit nervous to check the status checker but did anyway and found out the good news. I thought I checked it on Thurs or Fri of last week and it still just said "Complete." Maybe not, though. I've been trying not to check those things all of the time for the sake of my sanity...

Do you live in the Lawyers Club? If so (or if you have other knowledge of it), what's it like?

I do not. I am married and live off-campus. It was just remodeled and it is gorgeous. Over half the 1Ls live there, and they all really like it. Everybody has their own individual bathroom (no walking down the hall in flip-flops carrying your shower caddy). It's also super convenient being no more that 3 minutes from your room to class. You also don't have to go outside much at all in the winter.

Are summer starters starting to get burned out? Are they really one big clique?

I would say you should be very prepared to answer this one... and it shouldn't be that hard to work out. same as any other school - pick out a few academic points in which you would genuinely be interested, find one or 2 points about the atmosphere/town/student body/campus/whatever, and if there's an obvious reason on your app that would pull you away from deciding on michigan, a line about why that doesn't matter or is negated. Boom, done.

Edit: also, I think you're probably better off asking about general darrow interview questions in the c/o 2017 forum, if only because its more likely to be seen by someone who's done their interview.

No, not that burnt out from the ones that I know. Especially because this semester starts the electives that people can take, so there's a bit of a motivation renewal now that people get to take some of the classes that are more about the practice areas they like.

I don't think "clique" is the best word, but they are a more tight-knit group. Every one of the 1L sections (there are 4 of them, 80-90 people each) are tighter socially than other groups. However, at the 2L and 3L level, all the sections (summer-starters included) become more spread out. People tend to associate more with people that are interested in the same practice area or student groups.

You know Ann Arbor is on Eastern time, right?
It updates at 6EST, so he/she gets up at 5CST I'm assuming.
