Just got one this morning too, around 8:30am. Pretty standard email inviting you to sign up for an interview with a 3L Darrow. They have a million time slots open - not sure how many people get invites, but I'm sure there are a ton more invites coming.
Yeah, there are a ton. It's a six week span in January-Feburary with 15-20 slots almost every day. So at least 90 slots? Does anyone know how many people actually end up receiving a full or partial Darrow? I haven't done any research on this before.

Also, I'm not a big time poster so I don't always know where certain things should be posted, but should we move this conversation to a Michigan class of 2017 thread?

Edit: Oh, there's a Darrow thread. I guess that'd be the place to start researching.
I'd take it with a grain of salt, though. My understanding in the past had been that there are only about 14 darrows total (although that could be TOTALLY wrong, I'm not sure where I got that number) and the Darrow thread has like 10 TLSers claiming to have received Darrows, The numbers don't match up if I have that right.

Also, there isn't a class of 2017 thread yet. ;) tbh I haven't made one because I was hoping Scotty could do the honors for us... I can put one together this afternoon though if we're thinking this conversation is more appropriate elsewhere, I don't really care/think it matters
There are probably around 14 Darrows accepted every year but I would imagine that means there are significantly more than 14 offered. Since most Darrow recipients are likely competitive for HYS and other t14 scholarships, I am sure quite a few people turn down Darrows every year.

In the past, it looks like the invitation to apply for the Darrow has basically guaranteed receiving it. But with the interview thing, maybe they're switching up other parts of the process as well.

I think the general wisdom is that people who have a good shot of getting into Harvard have a good shot of getting a Darrow. I'm not saying that everyone who gets H gets the invite, but that seems to be the pool they're targeting.

Let's keep it here for now, then. My instinct is that those who are waiting on acceptances are also interested in scholarship conversations, anyway. And this way we give Scotty a few more days to (hopefully) get accepted and then he can make us a lovely, lovely thread.

Personally, I know my numbers are almost certainly not high enough for a Darrow unless Dean Z gets my file mixed up with someone else's or something, but I hold out hope. :P

For those interested, my (apparently) Darrow-worthy stats are 3.89/174. We have to apply by Jan. 11th, and the interviews don't even start until late Jan, so there will be plenty of time for the rest of y'all to get your invites.

So do we think it's safe to assume that us EDers who have not yet heard back will be deferred? Seems like Michigan has historically waited until the last day or two to release all of its deferrals.

So through this entire process, I've never really been worried about anything. Currently however, I'm reaching the breaking point because obviously I have to hear soon, most likely tomorrow, but I feel like the news won't be good if it's taken this long to reach a decision. Woof.

Don't lose hope scotty! I'm also getting really nervous, and my numbers are similar to yours (kinda), so whatever happens... --LinkRemoved--

I'm contemplating staying up until 6AM, then blowing up your phone to wake you up so you can check.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
