Is there an average time between interview and decision?

How long since submitting your app would people say it would be appropriate to send in a LOCI? I already wrote a Why UVA with my application when I sent it in December. Haven't heard anything since.vivala wrote:Send in that LOCI! I got an interview request about 5 mins after an email acknowledging the letter. Just finished the interview so now it's the wait

I think it's generally best to submit a LOCI only after you've been WLed. If you have received any new information since December that would help your application (promotion, thesis approval, elected SBP, won an Oscar, etc), definitely update them with a short letter/email.

Yeah, I should probably clarify that I didn't write a Why UVA originally.

I was also just got the WL email.
Been complete for 7-8 weeks now. No "Why UVA?" and out-of-state. No interview request prior to this. LSAT over 75th, GPA between 25th/50th.

In today via email!
Interviewed last week, the interviewer was super nice and personable and sent me a personalized email today.
This is definitely my most exciting acceptance--it doesn't even seem real!
Submitted 11/26
Complete 11/28ish
Interview Request Mid-February
Stats are in profile, but >75th LSAT, <25th GPA.

In today via email! So excited...it's pretty much my top choice.
LSAT at 75%, GPA at 25%. Went complete 12/27. Not URM, no Why UVA (but did cover that in the interview).

Congrats to the admits! Out of curiosity and concern, is it typical to be admitted during the interview? I was just told that they'd "be in touch soon."

I think a few people have been admitted during the same call. It seems that the "be in touch soon" is the typical response however.vivala wrote:Congrats to the admits! Out of curiosity and concern, is it typical to be admitted during the interview? I was just told that they'd "be in touch soon."

Re: UVA c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
That's kind of a relief. I thought the interview part was ok, but because the interview request was pretty early in the morning and very unexpected (they were just like can you call us basically right after they received my Why UVA), I wasn't prepared with questions to ask them, so I just asked a generic one and then got flustered.Gooner91 wrote:I think a few people have been admitted during the same call. Complete 1/8, no interview request. Doesn't give me a lot of hope on the strength of my application...

Re: UVA c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
I wouldn't question the strength of your app too much just from one WL. There are so many factors involved, especially with UVA (out-of-state, no why UVA, etc), and you can never really tell how your PS and softs will be seen by adcomms from different schools. My advice is stay optimistic and ride the CLS hold and UVA WL. If you've submitted "why X" essays and kept schools updated with your recent achievements, you've done all you can.Chekhov'sGun wrote:Congrats! Were you in state or out of state? Did you email to thank your interviewer afterward? I kind of think I should, but I also don't want to appear pushy for a decision.

In today via email, no interview. LSAT > 75%, GPA 25-50%, out of state. No Why UVA, but didn't think it was necessary in my case.
