Congrats!a.sleepyhead wrote:Just got into UVA! Received an email asking me to call, which I did. We talked about the weather, etc., and she asked me if I was interested in UVA. Said yes, then she said she was sending me an acceptance email, which I received soon after. I hadn't interviewed or anything prior to this phone call.

I just got an email wanting to set up a call to talk about my application. Thought it might be an acceptance but he wanted to schedule a time on Friday to talk over Skype, so it sounds more like an interview. I interviewed with someone else in November but it seemed pretty informal. So is it weird to have two interviews?

It works for a lot of things, really! There was a recent study that showed the average Christian trusts rapists more than they trust us (atheists) by a wide margin.NoDayButToday wrote:+1montanamonkey wrote:Just got excited about a call from a VA area code...

Just tell them you're an atheist. That worked for me. No more calls!

Well you know there are very few "legitimate" rapists, so that's probably whyWill_McAvoy wrote:It works for a lot of things, really! Did people getting interviews submit Why X essays? I'd think the lack of one would make it more likely, but who knows, perhaps they want to delve more into your Why X if you did one and it makes them interested in the interview more.

Not that I'm aware of. I believe there is a discrepancy in the literatures. Somewhere on the website, I believe it says they will begin offering scholarships in March/April ish (Not 100%). On the admission packet that was sent though, they listed scholarships beginning to go out in mid-January. Nothing yet though that I've heard of.Optimist Prime wrote:Hey guys,

In yesterday, very relieved and excited! Submitted pretty early in the cycle with numbers around median. Do they typically send out an acceptance packet right after the acceptance?

Waitlisted. Applied late Nov/Early Dec Above both 75ths. No Why UVA? No interview
I guess I can't say I'm surprised.
I guess I can't say I'm surprised.
Thinking about withdrawing but I don't really see a point in itWe have completed review of your application for fall 2014 admission to University of Virginia School of Law.
To date, we have reviewed thousands of applications and are seeing incredibly strong candidates in our applicant pool. You are one of those very strong candidates and we commend you for your extraordinary accomplishments. As we try to manage our enrollment and avoid bringing in a class that is too large, we are proceeding cautiously and are inviting you, along with a number of other outstanding candidates, to be on our wait list. The wait list is a very important part of our admissions process.
As in last year’s admissions cycle, we expect to make a number of offers of admission to wait-listed candidates during May, June, and July. We believe that you would excel at Virginia Law and we hope to be able to offer you admission. We will do our best to have a final decision for you as soon as possible.
If you wish to supplement your application with additional information at any point, please feel free to do so. And please note that we do not rank our wait list. When we are able to make offers of admission to wait-listed candidates, we will review the entire list.
