I just got my request too! I'm ridiculously relieved! Does anyone want to PM me their weird/curveball interview questions too?
Good luck everyone!

YAY!! I was hoping you would get an interview.
I did not have any questions like that on mine so I cannot help you there. I am a bit curious what they were though. haha

When did you get your app in?? It may be that they're only contacting oct applicants right now, although the other interview requestees would have to verify their dates.phillywc wrote: i think uva forgot about me. could the fact that I live near a different MVP school be leading to yp? How good of a sign are interview requests from UVA? I haven't gotten one, just curious.

I'm in the same boat. Not even an interview request yet.

(took long enough - I've been complete for about 2 months now lol) Sounds like it's pretty standard from what you all are saying, but did anyone have any weird curveball type questions?

Based on this thread it seems the vast majority of applicants who got accepted were interviewed (although some very briefly). This small sample may not reflect the majority of applicants however.objection_your_honor wrote:How good of a sign are interview requests from UVA? I haven't gotten one, just curious.

What are people's thoughts about sending Why UVA statements with RD applications?
Best case scenario I think I would be waitlisted, worst case scenario rejected. Should I send a Why UVA with RD or save it for when I am hopefully WLed? lol.

I would suggest sending in the Why UVA with your app to make it stronger and actually get you that WL (or even acceptance) and then moving towards LOCI if WL'd... I just recently submitted my Why UVA (a tad late, but better later than never).Bajam wrote:What are people's thoughts about sending Why UVA statements with RD applications?

Hmm, the only thing is then, what exactly would you write a LOCI on since you most likely covered stuff in the Why UVA?The Dark Kite wrote:I would suggest sending in the Why UVA with your app to make it stronger and actually get you that WL (or even acceptance) and then moving towards LOCI if WL'd... WOW.
I had a wonderful call with Dean Richard. She was so sweet and positive, and she literally did not ask me a single question in my "interview." I really think a powerful PS can really work to balance out weaker numbers guys, so don't give up! I'm SO happy right now, good luck you guys, and don't stress the interview!

I had the same impression about the PS when I had my interview, and I think both of your numbers are better than mine. I bet you get an acceptance call tomorrow!Fiera wrote:WOW.

Re: UVA c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Honestly, my PS was basically a why UVA... and then I wrote a why UVA... and praying that I also get WL'd, I'll have to write a LOCI... there's always some aspect you can write about, it's just a task knowing how best to strategize and what exactly to choose. It'll come to you but cross that bridge when you get to it and for now, put together a strong and complete app, i.e. Why UVA included.Bajam wrote:Hmm, the only thing is then, what exactly would you write a LOCI on since you most likely covered stuff in the Why UVA?The Dark Kite wrote:I would suggest sending in the Why UVA with your app to make it stronger and actually get you that WL (or even acceptance) and then moving towards LOCI if WL'd...
