I'm an out-of-state applicant and I've been told that if you're applying as an in-state applicant for a program with an in-state quota (like UVA), they may take additional time to verify that you are, in fact, a resident. So if you're an in-state applicant, that may be why it's taking longer?

The residency requirement can delay a decision, but not complete status with UVA.

Ah, I remember that. I got a LSAC notification at 2pm that afternoon, and the UVA email came 5hrs later. You may want to give them a call on Monday.

The trend is 3 days so at least give them until Tuesday. Several people have had longer wait times, so I don't think you should worry too much. Plus, you don't want to come off as impatient by calling too early.

If you did not get one just send the admissions office an email asking for one. From what I have heard they are giving them out if you ask.

This was what occurred most of the time in previous cycles, but UVA is doing it differently this year. According to admissions reps no scholarship offers will be going out until spring.
I just wanted to confirm that according to the admissions materials "We will begin making scholarship awards in mid-January." This only applies to merit based scholarships.

If you do not receive a merit based scholarship, "Admitted applicants who complete the FAFSA and the Need Access application by mid-February 2014 can expect to receive their complete financial aid packages by March 1, 2014."

Hope that helps any inquiring minds.

I got an email today asking to meet me for coffee at my undergrad institution. I graduated in 2012, though, and told them that, and they said they forgot to filter by undergrad institution to make sure I was still in the area. Does that mean I can maybe expect to get an email inviting me to interview later or no? I'm kinda getting my hopes up...

Just went complete in the status tracker. For those who have been invited to interview, how long after your complete date was it before being invited?

I was invited to interview about 1.5 weeks after my complete date.

Has anyone else not heard back with a decision more than 2 weeks after having the interview? I had mine exactly 2 weeks ago and haven't heard yet. It seemed like the interview went really well, and i'm an in state applicant right at both medians, so hopefully they've just been really busy the last couple weeks or something

In today! I got an email asking me to call for an "important update" on my application--he didn't try to call me first. My interview was two Wednesdays ago.

This is correct. UVA has been known to give out many solicited fee waivers.

Thanks!! I had a bad case of the Mondays before receiving the call, but no longer. FYI, they are absolutely slammed in admissions, so for those who are still waiting on an answer post-interview, don't fret.

I think some people have been. Interviews have seemed to be for either YP purposes, or if an applicant was borderline.

Hi guys!

For the Activities & Interests section,
The University of Virginia School of Law and our graduates have a well-known and long-standing reputation for collegiality, involvement, and collaboration. Therefore, because we would like to know how you may have displayed these qualities, please list your significant extracurricular, extra-professional, community and/or other activities in the order of importance to you. Please provide a brief description of each activity, and specify your involvement, length of involvement, special projects, and responsibilities. (maximum characters 2000)

I did not want to repeat what is already on my resume but did not know what to write :/
Any advice?

Thanks in advance!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
