Also very interested in this... Particularly Boston. I have heard good things generally, but any first hand experience would be great. From what I heard UVA is well respected in Boston and you can get back there assuming you have some previous ties or a strong desire to work in the area.Otunga wrote:Anybody you know from Massachusetts/Rhode Island that wants to head back to that area? Or perhaps anybody that's just interested in working in Boston and the prospects for such people?WahooLaw24 wrote:From a current 1L- congrats to all those who got in so far and good luck to everyone still waiting to hear back!
Just wanted to drop in and recommend that anyone who is even thinking about attending UVA should find an open weekend and make the trip to Charlottesville. I happen to love it here and you may or may not, but I think it's definitely a place where it won't take you too long to figure it out either way.
Also, I'd be more than happy to answer any 0L questions, whether in this thread or by PM.

I do not have a status date as well. I'm not sure how to interpret this.linkx13 wrote:Hmm, I don´t even have a status date yet. Anyone else like that?

Hey for those who have already applied, did you list scholarships in the academic awards section of the application?

Has any been accepted RD after having an interview, but not the next day after the interview? If so, how long after the interview did you hear back?

I heard back the day after but its been up to a week for some. I'm not sure if there is a rhyme or reason as to why.nonis wrote:Has any been accepted RD after having an interview, but not the next day after the interview? If so, how long after the interview did you hear back?

Re: UVA c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
For what it's worth, I interviewed (RD) on Monday and didn't hear anything yesterday. I was told to expect to hear back within 1-2 weeks, though I'm guessing from other people's turn-around times that it will be closer to the 1 week mark. Hoping, anyway...nonis wrote:Has any been accepted RD after having an interview, but not the next day after the interview? If so, how long after the interview did you hear back?

it varies depending on your stats. I heard back in 3 days even though admissions told me to assume the normal 8-12 weeks for a response.

It took me a few weeks to receive an interview request and I applied in early September, so I wouldn't worry. Especially now that they are exponentially busier than they were even a month ago.linkx13 wrote:Is it a bad sign I haven't got an interview invite? Applied 10/10

Just had my interview today. Went very well, he's a really cool guy and we just chatted about a couple different things and a bit about the school culture.
Very laid back interview
Hoping I'll hear back soon

When you were accepted after the interview, did you receive a phone call or an e-mail that told you to call?

Are you supposed to schedule an interview... or is the uva responsible for contacting you to set one up?

Re: UVA c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
From what I understand, they only interview a small number of candidates, either with very high number to gauge their interest in the school, borderline numbers to make sure they're a good fit for UVA, or those with aspects of their applications that they'd like explained further (e.g. Time off school/work)itachiuchiha wrote:Are you supposed to schedule an interview... or is the uva responsible for contacting you to set one up?

Will you post or PM your stats? I saw your GPA, no LSAT.tpfennin wrote:Received an interview request today. Was not expecting one as my numbers are not super high.....I am over 75th GPA but under LSAT median.Hoping for the best!

Re: UVA c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Looks like UVA is now interviewing applicants.....
Anyone want to speculate(or know)how this is playing into their admission cycle?
Are all accepted students getting interviews? Are interviewed candidates getting rejected or just WL/Accepted?
Just wondering as UVA is one of my top choices and I am about to toss an app in.
Thanks!

Re: UVA c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
I don't know how much advance notice they give but I received and responded to an interview request last Monday and haven't heard anything back so there is nothing unusual about how long it is taking in case you were worried about that.cuchar wrote:I'm also really curious about interviews. I got an email requesting one last week and I sent back some times I am available but haven't heard anything. Does anyone know how far in advance they let you know when the interview will be? For example, if I said I'm available from 1-5 on Mondays, will they email me tomorrow morning and ask to interview later that day?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
