Hold the phones. I thought you were mulling over whether UCH or UCI were more TTT/TTTT.

Ready to give in, attend UCI, and "represent the same rich/middle class/government/corporate people as everyone else" and "add another graduate to an already saturated market."?

Must have been a good scholly package to eat those comments.
I think you're confusing me with Dr. Dre, lol.

UCH is pretty TTTT though. I think UCI/UCD >>>>> UCH

I'd be a fool not to consider all options. :D

Nah man, PI or bust.
I'm certainly aware of who Dre is. I was just blown away by your change of heart considering your penchant for using UCI as a punching bag in the past. Did someone hack your account or some other such nonsense?

You've got to read my posts in proper context. Nowhere in those posts did I ever say "UCI is never worth attending."
ManoftheHour wrote:What's more TTT? UCI or UC Hastings?

Just looked at the LST stats for Hastings and man, it's the true definition of a TTT.
The first one was out of jest and it's more of a dis towards UC Hastings, which I feel like is warranted. Increased their class size while letting their median LSAT drop by 3. That's TTTT.

ManoftheHour wrote:It's still better than UC HasTTTTings. Man, that school is such a shiTTTThole. 46% employment - 7% school funded = 39%.

Perfect example of why US News rankings are bs.

^^^^^^^
Damn. I really burned UCI there. (sarcasm).

The third link. This is all that is literally in the third link:
ManoftheHour wrote: Lol, HasTTTTings.

Are you saying it's better than UCH, which has been around way longer? If not, then it's TTTT. Because UCH is pretty TTTT.

46% full time attorney jobs. 7% of that is school funded. That's 39%. That's pretty TTTT man.
I'm pretty sure it's well known that I don't like UC HasTTTTings. I am considering UC Davis though.

Context. Context. Context.
As far as my posts are concerned, while I've forgotten that I wrote some of that stuff, I stand by them. Opening ANY law school (I'm not singling out UCI) in this economy does not help. The market is saturated. Mostly everyone graduating from UCI will STILL be representing the same middle to upper class people. Look on LST. Look at that big law %. Don't tell me that those people from big firms are defending the little guys. There's nothing wrong with prestige and wanting money. However, in that context that my post was made, it was in response to some guy posting about a "lawyer shortage" in CA and about how lower income people do not have representation. I could be wrong, but do YOU think creating another law school in Orange Country (even a potential T-25 school) solves that problem? I checked out LST and UCI has 28.6% clerkship and 23.2% biglaw. How does that solve the problem the original poster was talking about?

I don't know how this is a direct dis of UCI:
pluto111 wrote:Orange county does not have a good law school. And there's still a lawyer shortage in CA (and the rest of the country for that matter) since half of those appearing in California courts do not have the benefit of attorney representation. Those jobs just don't pay as much or garner the envy of TLS posters, but they certainly exist at the right price. I agree, though, that UCI, like almost every school in California, is only worth considering at this point if you get a substantial scholarship.
Manofthehour wrote: What you say is true.

There is a lawyer shortage and I'm saying that UCI is WORTH considering if you get a substantial scholarship. I'm certainly not saying the same about Indiana TTTTech. I would not go there if they gave me a full ride and paid me 25k/yr on top of that.

I think Dr. Dre is funny just because he hates a school that much. It's over the top, but it's funny. I post his quotes around a few times because, well, they're funny. However, I don't believe there has ever even been a post that I made directly that said, "Never go to UCI. It's TTT."

Lived at M.E. and VDC my first two years. My band played at Wayzgoose my second year. I left, but I loved my time there, bro.

Well, you can dance around it like the promising future attorney you probably are, and I won't keep skewering you cause that's pointless and we might be friends in the near future anyway. Despite your arguments above, I think it's pretty clear that you joined the Dre chorus of "UCI? are you f-ing kidding me" out of hand. I wouldn't care about all that noise if those in his ilk weren't so damn patronizing when people seek useful advice. But they get their jollies trolling TLS... because loneliness?

I'll take your change of heart as a sign that the dismissive attitudes may have been a little premature and maybe we'll be colleagues.

Gitguy are you a 1L or are you heading to Irvine this fall?

FYI they may just respond by telling you to form it yourself. Last year, our group was started by an incoming student (maybe even a TLSer) and not by a UCI student/staff.

Good to know! I wouldn't mind getting that going.

I wish Dr. Dre wasn't the OP though. He hasn't updated the OP with ASW/Travel stipend/SIR info. I doubt he'd be up for linking the FB group on the OP.

wait listed :( what are my chances of getting off the wait list? I 100% want to attend UCI! does anyone know how many people are typically admitted off of the wait list each cycle? Not feeling totally hopeless because at least I wasn't rejected, but I don't want to get my hopes up either.

I want to go but I think I'm gonna have to head out there earlier than that weekend. Other schools have deposit deadlines of April 15 and I wanna make sure Irvine is a good fit before committing.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
