I applied for the location as well as when researching schools online i found out about their dual JD/MPP. Also there's a huge focus on diversity which is awesome.

I applied 10/28, complete 10/30, and accepted 11/22.

In with a 157 and a 3.2. I will not be attending unless they are liberal with money, as the tuition plus the living costs ends up around $70,000/year, which is mind blowing.

Somewhat surprised that I haven't heard yet - I'm on a similar time-line with everyone else here.

Same here. What are your stats, if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah, I think mine was just "application complete," then it went to Admitted.

I don't remember it ever being "under review". It was complete, then I didn't check it for a while, then I got the e-mail.

What's YP?

Here's to us getting responses this week!

Is there evidence schools really YP though?
I mean, whether a candidate is using the school as a safety net or not, they're still applying to the school and there's really no telling the motivation behind it. Would admissions really risk the chance of not giving admission to a clearly qualified candidate who is applying to that school because he just plain likes it?

Yikes, well I guess that's one silver lining to having mediocre scores

KelloHitty, I'll be more specific later when I hear, but >75th for LSAT and within the upper half of the mid-range for GPA.

As I posted earlier, I'm a little bit nervous about the possibility of YP...it sounds like AUWCL is notorious for YP...and while it's not my first choice for the DC area, I would rather be at WCL than some of the other schools on my list.

I got in with an LSAT above 75th and a UGPA below the 25th

In with >75% LSAT and GPA above median. Also, it looks like as of 2015 there will be a new law campus located at the Tenleytown Metro stop.

In with GPA and LSAT above 75th. Chances for scholarships? I got WL at Georgetown but would like to stay in DC, however I don't think I could go to American unless I get some serious money.

This is true. They're moving altogether to the new campus. The diagrams illustrating the new campus look good! Would be nice to be on the metro line.

Unfortunately the law school is planned to open Fall 2015, so for our would-be 2L year.

Yes, definitely need money from a school with such poor job placement statistics like American.

Ugh, above 75th on LSAT but waaaaay below on 25th GPA. Not sure what the hold up is. Don't think it's YP given that I'm a splitter. Doubt they have a GPA floor but who knows. Sooooo confused. What's wrong with me.... j/k.

Seems like a decent school to go to if one is planning on going into patent law in the DC market, right? Obviously GULC and GW would be better, but American would certainly open plenty of doors for someone with a PhD in the hard sciences looking to do patent law in the DC metro, right? Any insights?

I have the same rationale for applying to American. I have a B.S. in chemistry, I'm interested in food and drug law, and I intend to stay in DC. Would choose GW or Gtown over American though, if I'm admitted.
