Somewhat related:
I can totally visualize (even though I don't know you) your reaction to getting in ED looking a lot like Richard Sherman's interview, and the December test is Michael Crabtree.

Totally related:
I feel like ED might make adcomm comb through softs a bit more, especially since it's a small class size.

Yeah I was pretty shocked too. I sent them an e-mail on Friday night to confirm they got my deposit stuff, and wasn't expecting them to get back to me until Tuesday. Maybe they decided to come in today since tomorrow is a holiday.
Were they cool about your deposit information?

Any guess at what my chances are?
What was your major and what are your softs? Any work experience? URM or white bread?

My friend just got in with exact same numbers as you so I'm curious to know what the difference was....

Bachelors of Science in Economics (my school offers both) w/ minors in English and Philosophy

Worked part-time for almost all of undergrad. Also have leadership experience and conference presentation experience.

Non-URM

Damn, surprised homie got in and you got the WL. He def doesn't have your academic background w/ those minors. I imagine that makes your 3.67 stronger. Only other differences are he had a couple years work exp. and he's an eagle scout.

That might actually bode well for you. Perhaps you're at the top of the list, and when one of those fuckboys that applied to Cornell for safety gets into HYS and withdraws apps elsewhere, you'll get bumped in.

Stay strong player, hope its happens for you.

Thanks man! Hopefully it all works out, I'm just bummed about having to wait until the summer for a decision now.

Reserve is after Regular Decision right?

Cornell's GPA and LSAT range are pretty small. 25-75 GPA: 3.52-3.73; 25-75 LSAT: 165-167. Gotta be one of the most unfriendly splitter places around.

From their website

What is the difference between a decision of Reserve and the Summer Waitlist?

At Cornell Law, if we have given you a decision of reserve, it means that we have reviewed your application, but we have not reached a final decision of admit or deny on your application. We will review your application at least one more time before reaching a final decision.

You may submit additional information to support your application as you are waiting for the final decision. Typically, applicants submit additional grades, new honors or promotions or an additional letter of recommendation.

In early summer, we review all the applicants still on hold and create a summer waitlist.

so reserve is really a deferral?
It's functionally a waitlist. The actual waitlist is made late in the summer when the class is fully deposited and you can only get off if someone backs out.

From the OP:
First Reserve applicants accepted on June 7th.
Remaining Reserve applicants transferred to wait list on July 25th

I was just curious if this status means anything other than 'not accepted'.
