No I wouldn't worry. Many many people have taken 4+ weeks to go complete. I actually make have to check that formula, because 9 days seems fast.

took me about 3.5 weeks to go complete. I think i submitted my app the same day as bbkk.

Took me over a month to go complete. I did have C&F stuff to send in though, so that may have been the cause

There was a small blue envelope in my mailbox today and I freaked out thinking it was a ding from CLS. Turns out it was a credit card offer for the American Express "Blue Sky" card.../facepalm

Get the Blue Cash Everyday instead, or the Blue Cash Preferred if you'll spend more than $834 on groceries in the next year. (I may have been doing a lot of research on credit cards lately.)

In other news, another day without a Columbia envelope here.

OT, but how'd you get to that number? I don't think that would even pay the Amex fee at 6%...

(I may or may not be asking simply so I can stop thinking about HLS for 5 minutes :D )

$834 might be a little low. To cover the annual fee if you're only looking at cashback on groceries and not including the 3% on gas and 1% on other stuff, and not considering the signup bonus, you need to spend $25 a week on groceries. If you spend less than $50 a week on groceries (again, only considering groceries and not other aspects), the Blue Cash Everyday is probably better than the Preferred.

Oh! Oh! Let me tell you! :D

BCE gives a $50 bonus on signup with no annual fee. BCP gives a $100 bonus, but there's a $75 fee that's not waived the first year (scumbag Amex...). So you come out $50 ahead with BCE but only $25 net with BCP. (They both give Amazon Prime free for a year so we'll ignore that one.) However, BCP gives 6% cash back on groceries where BCE only gives 3%. So if you spend $834 on groceries, you'll get $25.02 back with the BCE but $50.04 with the BCP. So at that point you'd be $75.02 ahead with both the BCE and BCP. So that's the major breakeven point. But BCP gives 3% cash back to BCE's 2% on gas, and 3% to 2% on cash back at "select US department stores," so it would probably break even before that point. So assuming you will spend at least $834 on groceries the first year of the card, the BCP is the better card. After the year, you will probably want to do a product change to the BCE to avoid the fee (unless you spend $2500+ annually on groceries, in which case the BCP is the better card.)

Ahem.

Oohh yeah, forgot about the 3% on gas and the bonus in the first year. I'm a simple man, I'll just stick w/ my straight-up 1.75% on everything card, no-fee card lol.

Oh that's interesting that they'll let you switch to the no-fee card after the first year. Too much hassle for me though. I like my simple card :). I'm probably out a few bucks, but it's worth it lol

Unless my mailman has a tauntaun, my best guess is that he will not be delivering today.

We haven't gotten mail for a few days here. Probably won't until Saturday -_- Thank god we're thawing out a little....We don't know what to do in the south when snow happens so everyone has been holed up all week.

I'm in LA. It's summer here (72 degrees). CLS and the USPS have no excuse for my sans-envelope mailbox.

Good point, you don't even know how to talk about it. Everywhere else we say "when snow falls" or "when we get snow." HTH

Here it's just "when it snows," implying that we know it's going to happen just about every 3-5 days like it does every year lol.

+1

This is a credited way to talk about snow.
