Yeah, that is odd, maybe it'll come later? My understanding was that the schollies were typically to candidates that would likely be taking HYS otherwise, and with those numbers I would think you'd at least cop one of those? Do you have any negative softs? Are you KJD?Nonconsecutive wrote:Congrats on the acceptance!hill wrote:in

Perhaps someone more familiar with CLS' tactics can elaborate, but I have no clue why there was no $ at all for you.

Nope. Last year the latest complete date to hear this wave was 1/9 and I would guess something similar for this year.rseaney wrote:i had a hickup on my CLS app and didn't go complete until January 17. Has anyone with such a late complete date received word yet?

There are many more candidates with super high numbers than there are Hamilton/Butler offers, unfortunately. I tried to do a bit of searching on TLS about them this weekend, and from what I could gather, they tend to go to applicants from elite UGs and/or with good WE.Nonconsecutive wrote:Congrats on the acceptance!hill wrote:in

eta: but more importantly, CONGRATS on the acceptance! You'll have great options this cycle, and may still get substantial $$ at Columbia (just not a named scholarship).

With a 3.9/175, the dude should be fine either way.

Thanks all. Not too bummed about it; just freaked me out into thinking something was fundamentally wrong with my app.
Edit: Also, there was a person who got a Ruby and did not get a named scholarship from Columbia last year. This is just to assuage any fears others may have out there with high numbers/no scholarship.

Thanks for the info!NapoleonXV wrote:had my interview yesterday. no curveballs. mostly standard questions.
My interviewer seemed to hint that the decision post-interview will be quite quick, so I would not be surprised if I receive the decision early next week.
Apple, how was your interview?applelover wrote:I know my interview was just yesterday, but I'm anxious to hear back already.

An attorney at the firm I work for got a half-tuiton scholly (graduated 3 years ago or so) that was non-butler. It was named, some random lady, but he wasn't allowed to put the name on the resume apparently. So there's $$ to be had still, just not the resume boost of the butler/hamilton.koalacity wrote:There are many more candidates with super high numbers than there are Hamilton/Butler offers, unfortunately. Do people really get resume boosts for the "named" scholarships? I would think grades, past WE, and certain extra-curriculars (LR, etc.) are all employers really care about.charlie.black wrote:An attorney at the firm I work for got a half-tuiton scholly (graduated 3 years ago or so) that was non-butler. It is my understanding that only the Hamilton/Butler are given with acceptance letters. Other scholarship money comes later.hill wrote:Thanks all. Not too bummed about it; just freaked me out into thinking something was fundamentally wrong with my app.
