Honey, you can't walk through BK. It's way too vast a county to do such.

Your scenario need not apply in this instance. Given the BK versus UWS comparison, both areas are urban. But neprep took it a step further to judge an entire borough versus that of a neighborhood in Manhattan.

....and even more hilarious is his statement of NYU being closer to BK. The closest BK neighborhood to NYU is a neighborhood of similar ilk to Morning Side. And he appears to forget the neighborhoods of TriBeCa and Greenwich Village (which is considered even more desirable to Morningside by NYC standards but apparently not by our in-house NYer neprep standards).

As a resident Brooklynite, I had no choice but to speak up. If folks want to start comparing a BOROUGH to a neighborhood in Manhattan, you better have visited or lived most of your life in said BOROUGH before talking about it "it's further from BK".

/BK-do-or-die rant.
This went way way beyond what my initial comment... It's just not necessary.

Congrats to those who were accepted.

I am aware it went THERE and even more aware that I took it THERE.

Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge same.

P.S. See you at CLS' ASW.
1. I think we'll have to settle that via PW and vote
2. Anytime :)

Sorry LS22, for derailing the thread a wee bit, but this confrontation runs counter to my affable nature and needed to be tied up with a bow.

Do you think your theory will hold true for Columbia? That they'll take some more reverse splitters because their 25% dropped to 169? Hopefully? :)

Nope. CLS and NYU love them some LSATs. I think they will be some of the most splitter friendly schools this cycle.

I remember when I was anticipating letters for UG, there was some chatter on College Confidential about how you can track the USPS mailing by tracking number, since all letters proceed in a series because they were mailed together in bulk. So you could randomly type in numbers in the tracker and see where some packages have reached in the country. It's really dicy and there's probably room for error…but if someone is looking for something to do…

I don't think first class has tracking numbers. Or at least they would have to pay extra for it.

Roommate just checked the box- nothing in it- hoping that means it is either coming tomorrow or it was sent to my campus package services because it was too large and I just haven't received the email yet.... Those numbers from the earlier DC acceptance make me pretty optimistic!

I'm a 3.71 and a 172, so really crossing my fingers here. Only thing I can think of that would make them particularly not like me is that I originally applied ED in mid-october but changed to RD in early November. I wrote a why columbia, told them they were still my top choice, and explained that the decision to change to RD was only because it would be irresponsible of me to shut the door on other possible opportunities in light of my financial situation. Really hoping I didn't shoot myself in the foot with that!
