Last year they overlapped by a day; CLS was like Wednesday-Thursday and NYU was Thursday-Friday, I think? The last day of CLS's was just visiting classes and some other optional things, so it wasn't a big deal to go to CLS in the morning and NYU in the afternoon on the overlapping day. Made it extremely convenient to visit both in one trip, coming from elsewhere in the country.

If they're fully overlapping this year... well, that's a bummer. It would probably still be manageable to go to one on one day and the other on the next and not miss much, though.

Ah okay. They might still be that way. I was getting my info from the CLS accepted students thread, where it says it's Wednesday/Thursday, but they also say it's April 9 & 10, which is a Thursday/Friday, so it can't be both.

I'm guessing those were just last year's dates, and they'll stick to the Wednesday/Thursday this year if that's what they have previously done.

Hi beep!

Co-signing this and adding that last year NYU's Dean made a reference to how the two schools try to coordinate their ASW, so it would be very unlikely that they actually overlap the whole time.

Okay great. That would be nice if they attempt to make it convenient for those visiting both schools.

Wow, that's a totally lame move by both schools if that's the case. Berkeley/Stanford do their admitted student days back-to-back, why can't NYU/Columbia?

If you keep reading someone said they thought they would be making an attempt to coordinate them, so either back to back or at least only overlapping by a day.

Columbia's first ASW is March 5-6 (Wed/Thurs) and NYU's is March 6-7 (Thurs/Fri). I like the overlap because it enables people to attend at least part of both and take as little time off from work/school as possible. Here is the link to Columbia's schedule:

This. They can take a while. Make sure you have all necessary documentation sent in. A common one is not sending in the Dean's letter if you have any UG C&F disclosures.

Anyone have info on the timing of emails sent to international applicants in past cycles?

I just don't understand this. The admissions faq clearly states that dean's certification is required of admitted applicants and that the form will be made available "once an applicant has been notified of acceptance."

Are you suggesting that this is not the case, and that Columbia fails to disclose that requirement to applicants?

I can only speak from personal experience, but they emailed me and asked me to send in a letter from my UG with the info they had on my disclosure. I was at completion pending, and CLS said this was required for me to go complete.

There was no form, though, so perhaps that is a separate requirement for admitted students.

It's only if you have UG C&F violations.

He was referring to students with character & fitness issues related to school/academics, etc. In this case, a Dean's certification is actually part of your C&F disclosure, so its part of the application itself. For students without such C&F issues, you only need to get the dean's certification after you are admitted and choose to attend.

Pneu, I don't think a drop of 0.01 is that big of a deal and I don't think schools will care overly much.
As to sending the updated grades - if it goes through LSAC, I don't think so - pretty sure LSAC sends an update to all the schools?

Do you guys think they're sending out the packets today? Or tomorrow? So excited to just think about it :D

I don't even think he/she can even spell "minus".

I know! the anticipation! the thrill! Even if I were to be admitted, I probably wouldn't get it by this weekend, so trying to manage expectations...

If you were asked to submit grades, you should. The drop isn't significant (really the only harmful part might be that you didn't improve, and I doubt even that) and if you're already below the 25th they don't really care. :) (There's no way to only send the update to one school, it's automatic.)

And sorry I didn't chime in on this earlier, but the days I have written down for admitted student days from the email they sent us last semester are all W+R.
