Went complete on Jan 24th. I am an international applicant living in Asia.
The status checker says that decisions will not be available online but will be mailed. It takes 2~3 weeks for any mail to arrive here from the US. That's how long it took NYU's admission package to arrive here.
To those who were admitted: Would the status checker indicate that a decision letter is sent?
Would requesting them to send me an acceptance email work?

Internationals are notified via email.
The status checker stays "complete" forever and ever.

I am still in Completion Pending.

I submitted on 1/16 and I got a notice on 1/17 that said "Initial Application Components Received."

It says to give 2 weeks for completion. It has now been 3 weeks. Should I contact the admissions office or wait longer?

1: You need to be more patient. For example, wait more than 12 minutes before bumping your own post.
2: For another example, it hasn't been three weeks. Columbia takes forever. Just chill.

I only bumped because there were a lot of posts quoting a post after mine and the page wrapped. I was worried I would get buried.

I phoned admissions and they told me that decisions generally go out to Canadians via snail mail.

Canadian, got an email saying that I had been admitted and that a letter was on the way. Got the letter a few days later.

I went complete in mid/late november. still haven't heard

Opened the mailbox to find a big blue envelope. Turned it over to see it was the NYU acceptance I had known about since last Wednesday. Obviously still happy but thought I had scooped both NYU and Columbia .

Same thing happened to me last week with my Duke Law accept. Was still excited to see the package, but I already knew I got in there and was hoping for news from Columbia. Hoping today is the day for my CLS envelope.

Woohoo nice! And that's too bad you didn't get to know until you got the handbook! You should yell at them. Maybe then they'll get the message that they should NOT BE RELYING ON THE USPS.

All this talk of not receiving an initial letter is starting to make me feel like I'm in the same boat. It might have to do with NYU e-mailing me saying that a letter was returned to sender. My apt management/local USPS suckssssssssssss
