Yea based on LSN comments, looks like Reserve = WL.teenybean wrote:I don't think columbia has a "waitlist". They just call it reserve but it's the same thing except for the fact that they don't rank the list (they look at the group as a whole when they decide to accept people).

If we follow last year's sequencing, here's what the next few weeks after this initial batch of WL should look like:
Week 1: Sprinkling of acceptances and WLs
Week 2: Batch of rejections
Week 3: Batch of WLs bigger than this first one
Week 4 and on: A little bit of everything, mainly for late comers.

Re: Columbia c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
What's the consensus for 1/6 complete dates not having received a decision yet? It seems like many have not received any decision even if their numbers suggest auto-admit. Just wondering what the deal is here. It's difficult to interpret LSN's data for early-January completion admit dates from last year since the decision dates have shifted.
I find it hard to believe that many of the 1/6 people in this thread who have great numbers but no decision are headed for the WL.

Waitlist. Uncompetitive LSAT, 75th GPA. Kind of happy I didn't get the ding though!

They're probably waiting to see what the butler/hammy responses are looking like. There are only so few they can give out, and they only give them upon notification of admission, so it makes sense that they would wait.RonMexico1 wrote:What's the consensus for 1/6 complete dates not having received a decision yet? As long as Charlie's still waiting, I feel not as worried. Let's hope they sent out a bunch of acceptances today with the international admit.charlie.black wrote:Complete in October. Above 75th's. Nothing..

Arrow4Christ it's ridiculous that you're even remotely worried at this point. You've been waiting barely 2 weeks. HthArrow4Christ wrote:In the club as well. Reserved today, kind of surprised. My numbers weren't competitive, I didn't think.

Re: Columbia c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
"For it is only now that the idea of personal providence confronts us with the most penetrating force, and the best advocate, the evidence of our eyes speaks for it--now that we can see how palpably everything that happens to us turns out for the best. Every day and every hour, life seems to have no other wish than to prove this proposition again and again. Whatever it is, bad weather or good, the loss of a friends, sickness, slander, the failure of some letter to arrive, the spraining of an ankle, a glance into a shop, a counter-argument, the opening of a book, a dream, a fraud--either immediately or very soon after it proves to be something that 'must not be missing'; it has profound significance and use precisely for us."
So, for a little encouragement, let's pretend everything happens for the best and that, in all of this, what matters most of all is that wherever you go, Columbia or not, you end up making yourself into a kick ass lawyer. Access is one thing, the most immediate thing, but the real glorious accomplishments remain anyone's game. Still, how about some blue envelopes stuffed to the brim with scholarship money for us stalwarts next week, CLS?

I've been at "Completion pending" since 1/6. Is that normal? Should I have gone "complete" by now?
