I'm still not sure what to think about what is going on with all the strong applicants not hearing back.
I think......Columbia got tired of us (anyone get the reference )

Hey is everyone getting only letters or do they also send emails? I'm working abroad right now and I don't trust my parents not to throw it out thinking its one of those other law schools always sending things.

Acceptances and rejects get physical mailings. Wait lists get e-mails.aserr007 wrote:Hey is everyone getting only letters or do they also send emails? I'm working abroad right now and I don't trust my parents not to throw it out thinking its one of those other law schools always sending things.
A lot of people who get in have reported getting e-mails after their acceptance letters were sent that once again congratulate them on getting in.

Did you change your current address to reflect your international status? If so, you may get an email, but you may get snail mail if your permanent address is in the US. We've had conflicting reports. Permanent internationals definitely get emails, though.jingosaur wrote:Acceptances and rejects get physical mailings. It's been a month since I submitted my app, and I'm still at completion pending. Should I start worrying? The spreadsheet says average days between submit and complete is 9.0...

Then someone must have messed up the spreadsheet. 4-5 weeks is totally normal (unfortunately). No need to worry yet!bbkk wrote:It's been a month since I submitted my app, and I'm still at completion pending. Should I start worrying? No I wouldn't worry. Many many people have taken 4+ weeks to go complete. I actually make have to check that formula, because 9 days seems fast.bbkk wrote:It's been a month since I submitted my app, and I'm still at completion pending. Should I start worrying? Re: Columbia c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Yep, someone had a complete date in January of 2013, which made the number a -300, which obviously pulled down the average. It's now a more respectable 14 days. Although I still think it's higher. There are some people who have 0 and 1 days between submit and complete, and I think that is likely false. They may be confusing completion pending and complete.
If you actually go in and look, you'll see plenty of people at 30+ days.

Also, thanks for fixing the spreadsheet, as always!

Yeah if you look on LSN, there are all these Pendings that have reasonably good numbers (a range within which I think I fall....) I don't get it.
I also don't get the reference
I mean, my guess is that they were getting the interviewee decisions and some WLs/dings out, and next will return to getting decisions out in the normal rolling order AS IS ONLY FAIR SINCE SOME PEOPLE HAVE BEEN WAITING SINCE NOVEMBER OR EARLIER WITHOUT A PEEP.
Wouldn't it be crazy if Columbia had a SECOND surprise round of interview invites?

A fb friend just posted a Columbia acceptance. So at least someone got an envelope today. Don't know her stats or dates.
