That's my guess, drawstring. Here's to hoping!drawstring wrote:I feel like too many strong candidates haven't gotten in yet for me to get overly worried. Can't see CLS getting super picky given their median drop, large class size, and large drop in apps. Maybe we'll be in the batch with the first interviewees.

Because we are uncertain regarding the plans of some applicants whom we have already admitted, it is necessary for us to postpone making a determination on your application until the end of May, when we will begin reviewing those candidates on Reserve and offering some admission to our 2014 class.

Subject: Please see the attached document for a decision on your application
First line of the email: We wish to inform you that, after careful deliberation, our admissions committee has decided to postpone making a final decision on your candidacy.
I think that, by definition, is not a decision.

Ditto. I was placed on First Reserve. Does your letter make mention of same?Wild Card wrote:Because we are uncertain regarding the plans of some applicants whom we have already admitted, it is necessary for us to postpone making a determination on your application until the end of May, when we will begin reviewing those candidates on Reserve and offering some admission to our 2014 class.
I'm not even sure what this means.
GL to those still waiting!

Yes, my starts similarly, but goes on to say I am in the Reserved group...whatever that means.ChicagoDawg wrote:Subject: Please see the attached document for a decision on your application

Sorry for all those placed on reserve though I'm not quite sure what that means. Is it a waitlist? A hold?

I got this too. It's basically "We've decided...that it's too early to decide."AAJD2B wrote:Yes, my starts similarly, but goes on to say I am in the Reserved group...whatever that means.ChicagoDawg wrote:Subject: Please see the attached document for a decision on your application

so we were waitlisted right? They just don't want to call it that? Their description of "reserved" sounds an awful lot like the definition of "waitlisted". I am confused if I should be sending an LOCI or if I should just wait to be officially waitlisted THEN send it...

I don't think columbia has a "waitlist". They just call it reserve but it's the same thing except for the fact that they don't rank the list (they look at the group as a whole when they decide to accept people).

So basically a way to not have rolling admissions while having rolling admissions. Why does any place do this? Why don't they just change from rolling to precipice admissions?teenybean wrote:I don't think columbia has a "waitlist". There are a lot of people in this boat. It's not necessarily a bad thing.metroidbum wrote:Above both 75ths and still no response, neither an acceptance letter nor an email waitlist

They may be just a bit slower this year like many other T14s

Mannn waitlists are coming out? Just as I thought it would be okay not to be afraid of my email anymore after the Harvard rejection wave seems to have passed. Now this.
