...perhaps they do internationals differently...? oH GOD ITS ALL FALLING APART
Thinking about posting stuff like that always makes me waffle on the value of better information versus potentially ruining some awesome TLS detective work

But it is possible internationals are done differently.

this.

So if you and I don't get a letter soon, then either they aren't doing this or it takes a lot more time than I thought to get mail to where we live. I don't think it discounts it, though.
And me! first third of the alphabet and no letter, although way down south soooooo.... here's to hoping

All right folks, just had my skype interview with the dean of admissions, Nkonye Iwerebon.

first of all, i was really scared since i had no points of reference or anecdotal evidence, but it went very smoothly. she was extremely congenial/friendly. also, we had a small technical error on her end, but it worked out in like 15 seconds.

Okay, now the part you know about. What did she ask??

lol it started off with my undergrad (why that undergrad, how did it help you, and what did you learn from your major)
then the usual meat of the interview (why law school, why now, and why columbia)
Then it came time for the mushy, less tangible questions (who are your mentors, what do you do to relax)
Lastly, she asked if i had any questions for her.

super relaxed. lasted 20 minutes exactly.

Sounds like Columbia had a fake applicant do a Chicago interview and report back on how they do them. :D

You should also post this info in the interview thread for future generations, assuming Columbia sticks with this.

"What do you do to relax?" Oh God, that would have thrown me off so much. I feel like my brain would be like "GET HAMMERED GET HAMMERED BANG SLOOTS GET HAMMERED" so I wouldn't be able to come up with a pleasant-sounding answer.

Sorry, guys. Got a letter in the U.S. and my last name is somewhere in O-T.

Edited to make the letter range match the agreed-upon division and specify that I'm in the U.S.

I had my interview as well. It went the same as the previous applicants - very friendly vibes. I still managed to sound like a babbling incoherent idiot at times and probably laughed harder/awkwardly loud at courtesy, tension-easing conversational jokes. Hooray!

I second this woeful discrimination. Last five letters here and still nothing (SoCal).

Paging Wowhio.
I heard you're paging? Wowhio here!

To feed the rampant alphabet speculation, my last name is within the first ten letters.

Got it on Monday when the first people got letters. But I did go complete in mid-October.
