Re: NYU c/o 2017 Applicants Thread!
Got in less than 2 weeks after applying. 169, pretty much a 4.0. First LSAT was in October (167), so with the December LSAT, I missed the deadline to apply for the scholars programs. I am going to retake in June. Just to be clear - a 169 wouldn't be acceptable, no matter my relevant experience, for the various scholars programs offered, correct?

To be fair, NYU forgot about me long before I forgot about NYU (I still love you, NYU).barrelofmonkeys wrote:worst OP ever. it's like you only care about CLS.SteelPenguin wrote:Checking back in for the first time in a while (I am a terrible OP).So, this year NYU is a month late with their first rejections(Sorry, I can't read)? Not that I want to see anyone here get rejected, but I'd like the first wave to go out so some of us can have an idea where we stand with NYU.
that said, there have been a few reported rejections, but no waves or anything.

So I felt like I needed to join this forum and contribute to this thread. Went DLS today and was just able to log in to the Admitted Students page. I am kind of freaking out! But thanks to everyone for posting such helpful information.
If anyone is curious, I applied 2/15 and went Under Review sometime last week. Had no idea it would happen this fast!

In via voicemail! I plan on calling back after class, because I'm currently not in a position to sound coherent on the phone, haha.
Stats:
LSAT: 169
GPA: 3.98
Applied 2/12/14, complete 2/13/14, UR 2/18/14, and my status checker has updated to DLS as of today.
Incidentally, I tried to log in yesterday via that Admitted Students website but wasn't able to; however, it's working today.
Let me know if there's any other information you need!

I wasn't actually going to apply, but then they sent me a fee waiver so I figured "what the hell" and sent it in last night. So we'll see

They invited you to apply? I thought you needed to submit an app for that, no later than Jan 1?

UR1 since 1/09. I am not really sure what it means. NYU appears to still be building its foundation for the high numbers, e.g., quick turnarounds for individuals at or above 168 and 3.6.
As a reverse splitter, if I am lucky for competitive consideration, I probably would not hear back until late March. I am a bit nervous because the next two weeks have traditionally been waves of dings from NYU based on the LSN data from last year. So if we can survive the next few weeks, we may have a slight chance. Then again, I applied for RTK, so I would assume a decision either way has to be made soon since they will be notifying individuals for interviews by mid-March.
