Anxious posting! I'm not posting again though until harvard releases more JS2s or Dean Deal makes more calls.

Why would Stanford admit a few people and then just stop. Why would they do that. Why.

Because they are using the extra time to prepare the Wowhio and Specs extravaganza to celebrate our acceptances. :)

why else?

On mylsn, looks like January is when the bulk of the acceptances go out - does anyone know when in January decisions are typically sent out?

You're right. The wait is probably going to be totally worth it.

For anyone here who studied abroad: did you have to submit study abroad transcripts to Stanford or is it required only if those classes counted on your transcript (which is Columbia's policy I think)?

because if I have to submit mine, I might as well cross Stanford off my list...

If you have received academic credit for any coursework undertaken abroad and if grades for that period of study are not clearly indicated on your home transcript, you must send that foreign study transcript directly to LSAC or to Stanford Law School.

Thank you! but I'm still a bit confused as to what they mean when they say academic credit. Do they want letter grades for classes that counted for GPA, for graduation requirements, or for any class I took abroad through my undergraduate institution even if the class was considered an elective course and wasn't counted by LSAC?

I would interpret it as any class taken for credit at any institution. If you were actually enrolled and not auditing, then you took it for academic credit.

When in doubt, though, you can call Stanford and ask.

Thanks! Especially for the bolded part - makes it really clear which classes I should worry about. I'll give them a call too, but I'm pretty sure you're right on this one.

Any study abroad transcripts should be sent to Stanford.

I took a short summer course abroad that transferred credits into my home institution's total credit count but didn't appear on my home institution's transcript. The LSAC told me I didn't need to submit that summer course's transcript so I submitted all my apps without it... but a couple of days later Stanford actually emailed me and asked for it specifically.

Stanford's pretty flexible about foreign transcripts though, I was able to get that foreign institution to send a digital transcript directly to Stanford and they accepted it, so consider that as a good time-saving option (if available). You'll just need to contact them directly to double-check that's OK.

My application went complete 12/12. 177 LSAT, over median GPA.
Any idea from past cycles roughly when I might hear back?
Or does anyone have a link to last year's spreadsheet so I can figure it out myself?

--LinkRemoved-- might help. I would also recommend heading over to LSN, pulling up the list of SLS applicants, and sorting by Decision date.

I did the same, they were happy to accept this and it was much faster processing time/cheaper.

Frankly, my feeling is that we have no reason to believe that just because decisions have come on January Xth in previous years, that we will be seeing the same this year - I mean they started like three weeks ago.
