Those were printouts from tinder. Rejected applications are burnt as an offering to USN&WR in hopes of a good harvest.

Chalupa, I really hope you get in.

Thanks! I'm really hoping Faye notices that at least one out of every four jokes I make on this thread is well received.

Palo Alto is actually too cold for palm trees.

They are there but the require a lot of maintenance.

Palo Alto, be advised: scoobers (that's right -THE scoobers) is having none of your perfidious tropical environment.

Eta: Apparently I have no idea how to spell palo alto even when it's in front of me. I'm definitely getting dinged.

Being a fellow requires high proficiency in .gifs, baseless speculation, and proper forum etiquette.

There are no real benefits.

One does not merely gifpoast their way into a TLS fellowship. It takes months of carefully cultivated posting and a thoughtfully-crafted narrative, but someday, you too can be TLSfamous.

I don't know if I have the neurotic credentials for a tls fellowship, but the process of waiting for a decision from Stanford is giving me hope.
