If I send my intent to enroll at other school and withdraw my spot from stanford, could I still visit ASW and get cost reimbursement for the airfare?

THANKS!

Why would you go to ASW if you're already planning to enroll elsewhere?

Here's hoping.

Why on earth would they reimburse your travel expenses after withdrawing your application? Please don't try to do this.

My apologies if this has been addressed previously ITT, but what's the thought on sending a LOCI at this point? I know some advise against it unless you've been officially waitlisted, but in Dean Faye's blog from a couple of years ago she says she welcomes a LOCI. I'm a late January complete - am I way jumping the gun on this? I know lots of people here have been waiting for months and months - have any of you sent a LOCI? If so, how long after your complete date? I can submit an extra letter of rec and talk about a new position that's pretty exciting. Thoughts? Thanks for any feedback...

I'm a late January complete and I think it is jumping the gun a bit. The fact we are still in this means they are reviewing our application carefully, so I would personally avoid giving them something ELSE to consider on top of what they already have. If that makes any sense at all.

Lol.. Dude has like 70 posts, he would have thought about this with or without TLS... TLS is who's encouraging him NOT to do something that stupid and inconsiderate.

Exactly.
Also, hwannabe, I hope our responses (as well as the responses in the multiple other threads you posted this in) have convinced you to withdraw from Stanford. In your withdrawal email, please consider recommending me, koalacity, to take your place.

Fair point, there just probably wouldn't be a online record of his thoughts without TLS

FWIW, I do not want this guy suggesting that I get his spot. Imagining that conversation:

"Hey Dean Deal, I'm not interested in your school, but I'd love a vacay, you want to fly me out anyway? And also you should give FanofPosner my spot."

Automatic ding.
