I think this cycle has shortened my life, heart attack or not. And to think I may do it againmuzzy wrote:(I get a heart attack every time I open the S status checker and would like to live a long and happy life.)

My browser has decided to play games with my heart and consistently populates the left side of the status checker before the side that matters. Always a rush.drawstring wrote:I think this cycle has shortened my life, heart attack or not. Oy this is a long wait. I'm not holding out a lot of hope for Stanford, though. I just don't know what's taking so long.

It's probably that. I'm going with that.

From S's website:
I suppose we are in that "second review" now?...However, some applications are held until the committee has reviewed the entire applicant pool. This second review occurs in April, at which time the class will be filled. (A small number of applications will be held for possible use in filling vacancies that may occur during the summer.)

But wouldn't you be told if you're being held?tparks wrote:From S's website:I suppose we are in that "second review" now?...However, some applications are held until the committee has reviewed the entire applicant pool. I think "held" at Stanford is an unofficial designation like it was at H this year, in that you aren't told officially that you are held, but you can surmise that a lack of ding or accept on a longstanding application (mine goes back to Nov) is a "held" application

Would a complete in early January be a long enough wait to be considered a "held" application? I feel like my wait time pales in comparison to some of the brave soldiers on this forum.tparks wrote:I think "held" at Stanford is an unofficial designation like it was at H this year, in that you aren't told officially that you are held, but you can surmise that a lack of ding or accept on a longstanding application (mine goes back to Nov) is a "held" application

What this thread needs is more baseless speculation.

Hey, our speculation isn't baseless! It has a perfectly weak and transient base!wtrc wrote:What this thread needs is more baseless speculation.

Yesterday they rejected some people early evening PST...maybe that will happen again. At this point I just want to know!

FWIW, my friend sent in a long LOCI after being held a few cycles ago and didn't get in. My other friend did with a LOCI. They had similar numbers and softs.
I'm not sure Faye cares. But I guess it can't hurt to try.
