Hey Specs, I wouldn't give up yet. When I checked my status checker after Dean Deal called me, it also just said DLS. So it could just mean that you'll be getting an admittance call soon!
It ain't over till it's over, Specs!

Wait... so are we certain a DLS without a call is a ding? Or might the call be slightly delayed?
In previous years, the call (or email) always came before the change to DLS for acceptances.
eta: also, in past cycles, people have called the admissions office to ask whether the DLS (sans call/email) was a WL or ding.

Well, in years past, that's what it meant (or a WL). I don't remember hearing any anecdotal story about getting the DLS before the call. I would be happy to be proved wrong though!

Thanks for the condolences everyone
. My complete date was in early-Oct. 75th LSAT and GPA>25th (non-URM). Anything else I should include?

I'd love to know whether you know if you were DLS when Specs posted his earlier, or if you were for sure still UR then, and changed to DLS after that.

Is calling to ask about the decision not frowned upon by adcomms?

I only checked after I saw Specs' post so I have no idea if I was UR before then. I thought that if Specs got (potentially) bad news, I probably did too. I've honestly only checked my Stanford status checker three or four times this entire cycle.

Not necessarily - I did it with NYU, and I think they understand that law school applicants are, by nature, going to be high-strung and pretty nerve-wracked over this.

So I just called their office to ask and found out I got dinged. First rejection of the cycle but it doesn't feel too bad. I'm an east coaster at heart anyway
. I'll be sticking around this thread to hear good news from the rest of you. Good luck everyone!!!

Sorry about this. Definitely would not have had the courage to call. You seem to have great options though!
