I sent a full length LOCI (In late Feb.) and an update after graduating. Think it'd be advisable to do one more?TrustInMusic wrote:Have you sent a LOCI? Definitely worth doing at this point in the game.

damn. No room for somewhat lower gpas and higher LSATs? lolTrustInMusic wrote:Yes. There will definitely be many more waitlist admits coming. Expect mid-160s, 3.9s to be admitted in the coming month.kuddlykoala wrote:congrats! I was also a stanford undergrad. Hope there are more waitlist offers on the way.
The rumour mill has it that SLS had a bad yield rate this year. But I'm not naming any sources, so take this as you will.
There's good reason to be hopeful at this stage in the game, given that YLS and HLS waitlist-admits are practically settled.
Hope to see a good number of happy campers in this thread.
ETA: and thank you, by the way, for the hope & inspiration

Congrats! holy shit its happening and thanks for "coming out" and giving us the newsbasebalscribe wrote:Hey all,
As a continuous lurker I had much reservation about posting, but I have followed a lot of the regulars and feel invested in the thread. I was waitlisted in late April and received a call - so my status is officially WL, Accepted.

Oops. Before anyone else pm's me, just wanted to clarify that the 160/3.9 is purely a personal speculation. There will be waitlist movement, but who will be admitted.. who knows. What I meant is that people with lower numbers (either LSAT or GPA) have reason to be hopeful.
Although based on observations, people with high GPAs should be in a better position

Has anything worthy of mentioning happened in the last few months? I think this is a personal judgment call.digifly wrote:I sent a full length LOCI (In late Feb.) and an update after graduating. When do we think more offers will be made?

Re: Stanford Waitlist 2013
I called the admissions office about 20 minutes ago. They said that some offers have gone out and that the offers go out pretty steadily throughout the month; they don't release decisions in groups. The person I talked to also said that they make offers all the way up to right before classes start but not as many decisions will go out after July.

Man, that would be so surreal. 9 months after you send in your application, everything set for changing your life as far as attending another school and...one call from an unknown number..

650 723.4985? I actually don't remember which (650) number the calls come from.

hey folks -- does anyone know if stanford does feeler calls and then accepts students, or just accepts them right off the bat?

I've been following the Stanford waitlist and admission threads closely for the past several months, and I don't remember anyone ever mentioning feeler calls for Stanford. Harvard did feeler calls for its last round of waitlist admits.nextstep222 wrote:hey folks -- does anyone know if stanford does feeler calls and then accepts students, or just accepts them right off the bat?
Are you asking because you received a missed call from a 650 number?

Has there been any movement other than that one person earlier in the thread?
It's almost the end of July - I can't imagine them making a lot of decisions now

Theoretically, they could still make offers up to the beginning of September, since that's when classes officially begin.zabava wrote:Has there been any movement other than that one person earlier in the thread?

The only thing I can think of doing differently is retaking the LSAT. Or somehow becoming an immensely more interesting candidate. Or maybe persuading someone to switch places with me? But since none of these guarantee success, I'd rather not risk it...

The very latest WL-> accept both last year and the year before occurred on August 1 according to LSN. Thats this coming Thursday. I think its sorowfully safe to conclude that after that date, the game is over.kuddlykoala wrote:anything anyone? is it over?

Soooooooo....
I just got in off the waitlist. WHAT?!?!?
Stanford was always my first choice, but I was planning on moving to Cambridge in 2 weeks with my family of three, lease is signed, etc. Freaking out. I have til Wednesday to decide. First world problems, I know... but wow.

My advice is to not let the plans you have made to go to Cambridge stop you from Stanford. You can deal with the lease, etc. People change plans all the time.

Re: Stanford Waitlist 2013
Yeah, I'm going to jump on the bandwagon and encourage you to take Stanford - there's a reason you waited! And at the end of the day, living with a family in California is light years better than Cambridge. Congratulations!!! What a dream come trueyarsten wrote:Soooooooo....
