I don't know about anyone else, but I am so ecstatic to be included here. I'm considering "Waitlisted at Harvard Law" to be pretty much resume worthy.

Well, if anything that at least means (at least to me) that there is a reason to reapply early next year (with potentially higher LSAT) and have a decent chance. I applied in late January with LSAT below median and no GPA (can't fix the latter).

I counted something like 70 or 80 WLs on LSN from last year cycle that aren't updated to Rejected or Accepted. I think we should assume nearly all of those are rejected when trying to do chances/number calculations.

Also, am I the only one who read the Harvard WL blog post and said wtf? the answer to every single question is "we have no clue." great. especially when they CAN in fact release data on how many waitlists and their outcomes from previous cycles.

Speaking of LSN, how come all your info is from 2010? Also says you were rejected from Harvard.

I was held 3/22 and WL yesterday. Not sure what the no news says for you, but you have not been rejected yet!

I just checked out your cycle on lawschoolnumbers. I don't know how the no GPA affects you when the schools review/judge your file and compare it to other applicants, but a 172 is a pretty solid score. Of course if you think you can do better and want to retake, go for it. (In my case I took the LSAT three times - my score jumped by 10-points the last time, so a retake is not an option for me) Looking at your outcomes at other schools surprises me, but I think it does have a lot to do with how late you applied, especially with Penn and UVA. It seems a lot of people who would have been accepted there if they applied early are rejected or waitlisted if they apply later. In my case, I think applying early helped me a lot at some schools.

Anyone wanna retake the June LSAT with me to get off the waitlist? I'm gonna squeeze a couple more points out of that 175.

I'm considering it. Not for Harvard specifically, but just as a general boost. I got a 172 my first/only time.

I can't help but think, why not? Well, it is lots of effort, and it would suck if I went down. But would schools really revoke acceptance/$ if I go down?

Good luck to everyone in this thread!

If memory serves me correct from last cycle, if your stats were otherwise competitive, you have a good shot of getting a JS1 post-WL. I also believe movement started in mid to late May and continued into mid-June.

Don't forget to send a LOCI if anything of importance has happened since your application and/or last LOCI (new job, promotion, awards, etc) or if you have extenuating circumstances that makes it extremely important for you to attend Harvard (wife going to Tufts Medical School, Sick family member living in Newton, etc). This being said, do not just send a LOCI telling Harvard that you want to go there.

I wonder who has more of an "advantage" if any, those that received a JS1 and were then waitlisted or those that didn't receive an interview before being waitlisted.

I am considering a retake, however, I can't decide if it should be June or October. Obviously it's better to get a higher score the sooner the better (even if not for the WL but for the early start of next cycle).. But I can't help wondering what if I score lower :?

After a quick search, I could only find one reported instance of JS1-->WL-->JS2 last year. This is how it went down:

Anybody on here hear anything?

That would be me.

I see. December KB1. JS/KB2'd just now?

Got a "let's talk" email and KB2 both on the 14th

So I actually think the advantage goes to those without JS1s. Then again, the sample size in last year's spreadsheet was only like 4 people, so I guess you could say it was a 25% success rate.

Any estimates of how big the waitlist really is?

I've just realized that the WL list doesn't have a 'complete date' field. Might be useful for tracking whether it's mostly late applicants that get WLed or it happens across the board.
