Checking in as well. Wait listed this morning. Anyone know if a pre js1 loci is a good or bad idea?

I wish I could do this, but work is so slow right now. I have nothing else to keep me occupied here.

No.

It's Harvard. It's one of those schools that is assumed you love and would die to go there. At least try and shape your experiences in undergrad/volunteer work/etc to show you could provide a valuable contribution to Harvard, for example, in a specific program they have, etc. Reiterating how awesome Harvard is to them will just annoy them if anything. If it was a school outside of Yale, Harvard, Stanford (some even argue Chicago, NYU and Columbia) it could be justified.

Solid advice. Thank you!

No problem. Also, as a K-JD (I'm assuming you are if you are in undergrad), it will probably come up at some point as to why you are deciding to go straight into law school rather than work for a couple years first. Even if you don't address that in your letter, be prepared to answer it in the interview.

applemaroon: yes, it would be.

Don't spend the next two months "trying to get off the waitlist." Stop stressing about it. Better yet, focus on your other options and just be presently surprised if you get a call from Cambridge.

If you already discussed that in the interview, then no, I wouldn't discuss it again.

Just finished my post-WL JS1. It ran 12 minutes. Thought it went alright.

When you scheduled it, did there appear to be a fair amount of slots open? Did they give you any indication of when you could expect to hear back?

+1, mine went on for 13 minutes. I actually wasn't asked that many questions but I like how it went, JS is awesome.

There were a few slots open. Yeah -- really forward -- after May 1st.

Anyone care to speculate on what this means? Maybe expect another round of JS1s invites to go out starting next week, to interview after the deposit deadline??

It makes sense that they would tell us not to expect to hear until after May 1st. Most school deposit deadlines are within the next 2 1/2 weeks. Considering we are getting JS1s/interviewing this late in the cycle, if we were to assume that we are going to be getting a JS2 and therefore not submitting a seat deposit anywhere else, and then we later don't get accepted to Harvard (whether it's because they decided after the interview they weren't interested in us/didn't have spots open/whatever the reason), we would possibly be screwed out of attending elsewhere. So I guess it's good they are telling us upfront not to withdraw prematurely or close any other options too soon.

Some numbers:

-28 reported acceptances off the waitlist last year
-80 reported waitlisters this year

If we assume last year there was a similar sized waitlist (is there a way we can know?) we can expect somewhere around 28/80 to get in this year?

~35% shot of getting in off waitlist.

Does that seem reasonable?

Can someone explain to me how to make the cells on a Google Sheet offer selections like they do on the Waitlist Doc? I'd like to use it at work haha.

EDIT: Nevermind, figured it out. It's data validation.
